As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Payment Services technology team, you will be leading agile teams that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will also manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.

 

Job responsibilities

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersRequires 50% of the time being hands on performing code reviews or developing new codeLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureProvides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activitiesSets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaborationManages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirementsManage and grow the careers of software engineers

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.Must have 10+ years of development experience with 7+ years of demonstrated recent experience in Java developmentMust have 3+ years of experience leading and managing software engineering teams, with a focus on individual growth and overall team performance.Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security and Practical cloud native experienceIn-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systemsExperience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplinesVery good understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.Hands on experience working with high throughput, low latency distributed systems ensuring efficient communication and integration between different systems.Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
