Senior Manager of Engineering
We are looking for a Senior Working Manager to oversee the Industrial Engineering Team at our Christchurch location! In this role, you will be hands on leading approximately 30 engineers within the Mobility and Industrial Team. You will be responsible to ensure delivery of all technical deliverables (external and internal) to cost, quality and schedule. Critically the Senior Manager of Engineering shall ensure that appropriate processes are implemented to ensure the management of technical risk and that appropriate measures are used to evaluate and monitor technical performance **Location:** Christchurch UK **Benefits:** Paid Time Off | Retirement with Employer Match | Health and Wellness Benefits | Learning and Development Opportunities | Competitive Pay | Bonus Scheme | Recognition | Employee Stock Purchase Plan (https://curtisswright.com/investor-relations/overview/default.aspx) I Inclusive & Supportive Culture (https://careers.curtisswright.com/en/who-we-are/) **Your Challenge:** + Ensure that engineering strategies and processes are in place to follow business objectives and operational needs in terms of safety, price, quality and delivery targets and which will enable the company to function and compete effectively in the market + Determine, set and deliver goals and objectives for the department in line with the company’s strategies + Ensure the appropriate systems and procedures are established, used and developed, to deliver best practice in engineering + Develop and maintain appropriate SQEP levels for all engineering functions + Ensure technical gateway reviews are regularly and effectively conducted to drive, plan, monitor and control the delivery of engineering solutions to schedule, budget and to the agreed quality level + Escalate and manage technical risks and issues and perform root cause analysis and resolve problems + Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility + Identify and deploy technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement if external resources as required + Constantly promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member understands the standards and behaviours expected of them + Lead and contribute to continuous improvement activities **What You Bring:** + Degree level (or equivalent) in engineering discipline + Demonstrable experience in leading and developing multi-disciplined teams • Some experience of financial management, including budgeting and financial reporting + Strategic thinker with clear analytical skills and the ability to balance long-term and short-term priorities + Commercially and financially aware + Ability to challenge and influence at all levels + Strong negotiation and decision-making skills + Positive and pragmatic approach to achieving results + The ability to analyse problems and recommend a course of action + Strong leadership and people management skills, including leading a team and managing and motivating staff to achieve challenging goals + The ability to be hands on with day-to-day activities, when required **About Us:** Curtiss-Wright Industrial Division, which includes the product brands of Arens Controls, Penny & Giles, PG Drives Technology and Williams Controls, is an excellent supplier in providing components and sub-systems which enable customer specific solutions for on- and off-highway vehicles.
