About the Team

Workday’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) team plays a crucial role in securing and managing access across our global organization. We are responsible for the operational management of our existing IAM platform, which includes key technologies such as Okta, Thycotic, Microsoft Active Directory (MS AD), and Azure Active Directory. As a geographically distributed team, we provide essential support to our global counterparts, ensuring seamless and secure access for all users. Our team's objective is two-fold: to maintain the stability and efficiency of our current IAM platforms while also actively striving to enhance their scope and capabilities to meet evolving business needs and security requirements. We are a dedicated group of strong technical and operational engineers committed to excellence in IAM service delivery and innovation.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced, strategic, and dynamic Senior Manager, Identity and Access Management (IAM) to lead and evolve our Identity and Access Management operations. This critical leadership role will have overall accountability for the strategic direction, operational health, and continuous improvement of our IAM technology landscape, ensuring its stability, security, efficiency, and alignment with enterprise-wide objectives. The Senior Manager will provide senior-level guidance, management, and mentorship to the operations team, taking ultimate ownership of technology maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and driving significant service improvement initiatives. This leader will also play a pivotal role in shaping technical strategies, fostering deep integration of IAM with the broader technology ecosystem, and strengthening our overall cybersecurity posture and compliance efforts.

Responsibilities:

●      Strategic Operational Leadership: Define and oversee the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the IAM technology landscape, ensuring optimal performance, high availability, and scalability.

●      Advanced Team Leadership & Development: Guide, mentor, and direct the IAM operations team at a senior level, fostering a highly collaborative, innovative, and high-performing environment, including professional development and succession planning.

●      Strategic Service Level Management: Establish and monitor advanced performance metrics, ensure strict adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and strategically manage workload allocation across multiple projects and operations.

●      Executive Escalation & Crisis Management: Serve as the primary senior point of contact for complex service level issues, critical escalations, and major incidents related to IAM operations, driving rapid resolution and post-incident analysis.

●      Continuous Service & Process Optimization: Lead and champion significant initiatives for continuous improvement and innovation of IAM services, processes, and the overall technology landscape, leveraging industry best practices.

●      Strategic Technology Roadmapping & Upgrades: Architect, lead, drive, and manage complex IAM technology upgrade programs and strategic initiatives, ensuring seamless and successful implementations with minimal business disruption.

●      Advanced SDLC & Governance: Oversee and enhance the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for complex IAM-related changes, deployments, and new solution development, ensuring robust governance and quality. ●      Enterprise Business & Technology Integration: Drive strategic conversations with executive business stakeholders and cross-functional technology leaders to seamlessly integrate various enterprise technology landscapes with our IAM systems, fostering a cohesive ecosystem.

●      Future-State IAM Architecture & Strategy: Play a lead architect-level role in defining, proposing, and evangelizing future-state IAM strategies, solutions, and advanced implementation approaches across the organization.

●      Advanced Security & Compliance Governance: Lead and ensure adherence to cybersecurity initiatives, complex regulatory compliance efforts, and represent the IAM function in internal/external audits related to Identity and Access Management.

●      Strategic Metrics, Reporting & Dashboards: Define, track, manage, and present key operational metrics, advanced SLAs, comprehensive documentation standards, and generate executive-level performance reports and dashboards.

About You

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
