Job DescriptionThe Senior Manager, Facilities & Services, will lead the Facilities Function, ensuring the delivery of top-tier services across the Valterra Platinum property portfolio. Align service provision with business requirements, ensuring safety, efficiency, and effectiveness. This entails managing relationships and contracts with external service providers to maintain high performance and service standards, largely through outsourced solutions.
SafetyCreate a safety culture through productive and authorised operational systems/processes that allow all employees (including contracting partners) to provide their outputs in a risk-controlled environment. Oversee consistent application of Safety & Health principles in all discipline interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.Performance and DeliveryGuide and execute approved accommodation strategies, leading the Facilities Function to support strategic business outcomes in Accommodation, Facilities, Security, Catering, Health & Safety.Work closely with General Managers, Heads of Departments, and their teams to review programs, monitor progress, evaluate budgets, and resolve issues impacting service delivery, with a strong emphasis on safety and company values.Authorise expenditures within delegated authority limits, providing detailed justification for any exceptions. Oversee monthly expenditure reviews, targeting financial projections and performing variance analyses.Conduct quarterly business reviews with outsourced service providers to assess performance and pinpoint improvement areas.Drive tender processes for managed services and manage the preparation and administration of leases for office spaces.Engage in initiatives, special projects, and studies that advance the Facilities strategy and align with broader organisational goals.Actively engage in safety initiatives and ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations.Address matters related to both employed staff and outsourced service providers, ensuring alignment with organisational policies and practices.People & TeamsImplement a purpose-driven, high-performing culture that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity, supports engagement and fosters continuous improvement to work processes
ComplianceDevelop required compliance governance for the discipline on a corporate level.Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory, legislative and permitting requirements.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.Master's degree or advanced certification in Facilities Management, Business Administration (MBA), Contract Management, Project Management or a related discipline will be advantageous.
Experience:
7-10 years working experience in facilities management or a related field, with several years in a managerial role.Proven track record of managing large-scale facilities operations, budget oversight, and leading cross-functional teams.Experience in managing vendor contracts and relationships, preferably in a similar industry.Technical knowledge (experience) required for role:
Knowledge of relevant legislation including Labour Law, Governance, etc.Appropriate senior management experience in a senior management position is advantageous.Strong leadership and strategic management skills.Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.Proficiency in financial management and budgeting.Ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders and stakeholders across the organisation.Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.Engage with key stakeholders and understand their requirements in relation to the broader strategy.Make recommendations to line management and stakeholders on supplier and accommodation strategies as well as cost improvements.Analyse and identify risks and quantify potential business impact.Successfully complete ad hoc activities as they arise.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.Additional InformationWhat We Offer
