Senior Manager Employee Relations
**Primary Responsibilities:** Leadership + Lead and inspire the employee relations team to leverage their expertise, facilitate consistent processes and programs, and resolve issues while effectively partnering with business and HR leaders. + Provide mentoring and career development to team members to strengthen their capabilities, build functional expertise and foster a collaborative, facts-based environment of high standards, strong business partnerships, and results. + Provide direction and support to the employee relations team members to ensure prioritization and consistent processes. Establish and measure metrics to measure progress against objectives. + Design pragmatic solutions in partnership with HR Business Partners and senior leaders to meet ER function objectives and enhance employee experience. Systems, Process, and Innovation + Continue to enhance an employee self-serve portal capable of logging, directing, and helping employees resolve the majority of current tier one (common) employee relations questions: + Partner with IT to understand portal capabilities and direct corresponding enhancements. + Continue to enhance processes for timely, repeatable, reliable, relatable, and actionable reporting. + In partnership with the team: + Develop and refine templates, procedures, and related educational material for the employee relations team, HRBPs/HR Directors, and business managers/leaders. + Recommend new processes and procedures to continually improve the employee experience, and the employee relations team effectiveness. Investigatory/Advisory + Demonstrates expertise in best practices for conducting employee relations investigations, including the ability to lead complex cases. Capable of effectively training and mentoring team members on investigative techniques and protocols + In partnership with the team: + Intake employee concerns and conduct timely, thorough investigations into a range of employee concerns (including harassment, discrimination, and other potential violations of workplace rules, regulations, etc.). + Identify the root causes of concerns by analyzing ER case themes, exit interviews and other surveys to identify actions to decrease the ER issues and enhance the employee experience. + Recommend equitable outcomes intended to promote a positive, inclusive environment and uphold company values. + Provide actionable advice and creative solutions, demonstrating fluency of business language and understanding of business objectives. + Advise and train business leaders in positive employee relations practices and develop training content. + Collaborate and effectively communicate among the HR team, cross-functionally, and with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. + Execute projects quickly, with strong attention to detail and follow-through. Compliance + In partnership with the team: + Apply strong knowledge of, and stay current on, developments related to company policies and practices and federal, state, and local employment laws, including but not limited to Title VII, ADEA, FLSA, ADA. + Recommend and ensure completion of required training. + Track and report data to contribute to team metrics. **Critical Success Factors** + Passionate about enhancing the employee experience, being a people advocate, and improving culture. + Analytical skills with the ability to create an ER dashboard and metrics to enable identification of trends and recommend actions to increase engagement. + Systems thinker: while preserving/enhancing relationships, is able to build and maintain systems for effective ER processing and resolution. + The ability to work in an agile manner and pivot quickly based on business needs, objectives, and results. + Gain trust by creating positive relationships, understanding business objectives, exercising good judgment, and delivering on commitments. + Effectively manage multiple high-priority tasks and work well in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. + Learn quickly, acquire knowledge on new subjects in a short timeframe, and know when to ask for help. + Communicate information in a clear and concise manner -- orally and in writing -- in a style, tone, and manner appropriate for the audience. + Resourceful and energized by new challenges and opportunities. + Perform with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality. + Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Measurable success of reducing time to close. + Focused on meeting company supported. pre-determined SLAs **Education And Experience** + Bachelor's degree. + Minimum of 5 – 7 years’ of experience in employee (or labor) relations or employee experience/Human Resources (including investigations experience). + Experience with NAVEX or a similar case management tool. + Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, and statutes governing employment policies and practices. + Competency in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and an HRIS system. + Bilingual or multilingual verbal and written communication skills are a plus. + Experience in a retail setting and/or multi-site organization is a plus. **Physical Requirements** + Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer. + Able to lift 15 pounds at times. + Up to 20% travel . **Pay Range:** $119,175.00-$173,880.00 Annual In addition to competitive pay, we offer Paid Time Off, 401(k), an Employee Assistance Program, Good Sam Roadside Assistance, discounts, paid parental leave (if eligibility is met), Tuition Reimbursement (if eligibility is met), and on the job training opportunities.
