This Senior Manager, Accounting role is an important leader within the Segment Accounting and Controlling team providing financial oversight, accounting guidance, and analytical support to the Power Efficiency Solutions (PES) business. This role will manage a team of two individuals as well as indirect oversight of two more individuals, and will be focused on leading accounting, analysis, and controls related to areas including accounts receivable reserves, legal accruals, rebates, and commissions.
We are looking for someone who can: build strong relationships within the organization; build a strong team and engage at all levels in the organization; take advantage of data & analytics to provide business insight and decision support; drive improvements, efficiencies, and harmonization in monthly processes; interpret technical accounting on a variety of routine and non-routine matters; and maintain compliance with accounting controls and policies. The role requires a “hands on” person who is detail oriented and results driven.
The Senior Manager, Accounting will report directly to the PES Controller and will serve as a key liaison and business partner with the Segment CFO, Divisional VPs of Finance, Plant Controllers, Corporate Accounting and Compliance, and other teams.
Key Responsibilities
Support Segment Controller in their responsibilities and be capable to step in and back them up in all aspects of their duties where requiredLead month end close process and manage reserve calculations, accruals, and proactively communicate with FP&A to ensure alignment on expectations for upcoming resultsReview monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for completeness and accuracyResearch and explain variances, including through quarterly segment analytics processPartner closely with plant controllers, corporate, and other teams outside of the PES accounting team to understand entries made on the PES booksProactively supports internal controls and compliance matters to ensure company processes, controls, and accounting policies are understood and followedActs as a key business partner between Segment, Business Units, and Corporate Accounting team to drive communication around accounting items, explain trends in the business, help minimize surprises during month ends, and improve accuracy of financial reportingCoordinates and supports internal and external auditors with data requests during quarterly and annual auditsPartners with IT and other functions to streamline current finance processes and create new processes for key business initiativesSupports enhancements to Oracle ERP system and implementation of OneStream financial reporting tool, including some testing and trainingManages, develops, and provides appropriate coaching and support for PES segment accounting teamOccasional travel for team meetings or site visits may be requiredPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have proven experience as a finance business partner and in developing collaborative relationships across all levels and functions within a global organization. This leader must have the passion, energy, and intellectual curiosity necessary for a fast-paced, growth-driven environment.
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required, CPA preferredMinimum 8 years of relevant and progressive finance/accounting experience, 2+ years in manufacturing sectorMust be familiar with General Ledger, Invoicing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and related accounting and business processesStrong working knowledge of ERP systems; experience with Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, and/or OneStream is a plusHigh level of proficiency with Microsoft ExcelStrong communication skills, ability to quickly establish strong working relationships across multiple teamsHas a mindset of continuous improvement and can embrace Regal Rexnord’s 80/20 principlesProven ability to take initiative, be hands-on, investigate complex processes, and develop and execute innovative solutions to drive accurate resultsLeverages analytical skills to effectively organize and translate data into insights for decision making.
