Lenovo’s Chief Security Office is seeking a strategic, confident, and highly credible Senior Manager of Trust & Advocacy to join its global security leadership team, based in the Asia Pacific region. This newly created role will lead Lenovo’s external security advocacy efforts across APAC, helping to build, defend, and sustain trust in our global security posture.

This role will be the company’s primary security interface for high-stakes conversations with customers, regulators, government stakeholders, and partners in Asia Pacific—playing a critical role in proactively addressing geopolitical risk perceptions, regulatory concerns, and heritage-based objections.

Job Responsibilities: 

This role is newly established to lead and execute Trust & Advocacy responsibilities across the Asia Pacific Region, where geopolitical complexity, heritage-based scrutiny, and regulatory divergence require precise, confident, and credible engagement. The Senior Manager will amplify Lenovo’s security posture in-region, act as a direct customer and partner interface, and serve as the security liaison for executive escalations and supporting government engagement related to trust, security, and national concerns.

Core Responsibilities:

External Security Advocacy & Geopolitical Engagement

Lead regional engagements with strategic customers, partners, and regulators to represent Lenovo’s security programs, posture, and maturity.Proactively shape trust narratives and defend Lenovo against region-specific geopolitical and heritage-based objections.Partner with Government Relations, Legal, and Communications teams to ensure alignment of messaging and response strategies.

Customer Trust Enablement & Escalation Support

Serve as the CSO’s security representative in customer escalations tied to trust, national origin, regulatory risk, or ethics.Build and maintain a repository of validated security narratives, materials, and proof points customized for the APAC market.Support in-region Sales, Legal, and Product teams with tailored messaging and objection-handling playbooks.

Trust Narrative Integration & Strategic Messaging

Ensure consistency and localization of Lenovo’s trust messaging across internal security domains and external engagements.Collaborate with the Governance & Assurance team to transform assurance outputs into meaningful trust signals for customers and regulators.Influence executive and board-facing materials that demonstrate Lenovo’s global and regional security maturity.

Job Requirements – Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Competencies (KSAC’s): 

Executive presence and ability to communicate confidently with senior customer, government, and regulatory stakeholders.Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, enterprise security programs, and evolving regional regulations.Proven success in navigating complex geopolitical dynamics across APAC markets.Ability to translate technical security concepts into compelling, business-aligned narratives.Skilled in managing executive escalations and delivering trusted, solutions-oriented outcomes.Strong cross-functional collaboration, especially with Legal, GR, Communications, Sales, and Product teams.Ability to work independently in a lean, fast-paced, high-impact environment.Experience operating in multinational, matrixed organizational structures.

Job Requirements – Prior work experience 

10+ years of experience in security advocacy, enterprise cybersecurity, regulatory affairs, or trust and risk management.Demonstrated experience in leading external-facing security or risk-related engagements with customers or regulators.Proven track record navigating regulatory, reputational, or geopolitical concerns in Asia Pacific.Familiarity with global and regional security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, GDPR, PDPA, China CSL/DSL, India DPDP, AI Act, etc.).Fluent in English communication. Preferred to have Japanese communication skill, but not mandatory

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in cybersecurity, law, public policy, international relations, or a related field is strongly preferred.Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CIPP, CISM, CIPM) are a plus.

Travel Requirements:

This role will require travel (at least 50%)
