Senior Manager, Test Automation

Lead the IVI QA and automation team that will be responsible for developing and maintaining automation framework and test suites for IVI software. • Hire, mentor, and lead QA team across North America, fostering a culture of quality, collaboration, and high-performance in a high velocity agile development environment • Design, develop, and maintain scalable test infrastructure including test benches, vehicle simulators (HIL/SysHIL), and automation pipelines. • Develop automation tools, utilities, libraries, test processes, and documentation across teams to improve adoption of QA practices among testers and develop alike • Develop test automation using Python/Pytest, Selenium/Appium, and other modern frameworks across Android-based platforms. • Serve as a gatekeeper for IVI software releases going to internal and external customers • Architect, automate, and execute stability, stress, and performance tests to ensure system reliability for IVI software. • Develop and maintain CI/CD systems and automated regression pipelines to reduce validation time and improve release velocity. • Define KPI metrics for software quality, test coverage, and validation performance; provide regular reporting to senior leadership. • Debug and root-cause complex issues spanning software, hardware, and cross-ECU communications, driving timely fixes back to development. • Own test strategy, planning, and execution across infotainment platform layers—including system services, HMI applications, middleware, and cloud integration. • Contribute to roadmap and strategic planning for future infotainment programs, including resource forecasting and vendor coordination. You'll have… • Bachelor’s degree or better in software engineering, computer science or a related field or equivalent experience. • ⁠7+ years of experience in software quality assurance and test automation, including 3+ years in a leadership or management role. • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across time zones and drive alignment among stakeholders to deliver a cohesive software solution • A strong grasp of software testing methodologies, different types of testing, and quality assurance processes. • Hands-on experience with infotainment systems, embedded software validation, or automotive-grade platforms (Android, QNX, Linux). • ⁠Strong knowledge of test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Pytest, Robot Framework, Selenium, Appium). • Experience building and scaling CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes, or similar tools. • A track record of successfully debugging complex software and system problems. • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a sharp eye for detail. • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Even better, you may have... • Experience building and deploying automation frameworks from scratch • Experience testing automotive infotainment systems or other complex embedded systems. • Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing or testing directly on physical automotive hardware or vehicles. • Experience working with specific infotainment operating systems (like Android Automotive, Linux) or graphical user interface toolkits. • Strong understanding of vehicle networks and debugging tools (CAN, PCAN, Vector, Wireshark). • Experience with performance testing concepts and automating performance checks.
