Job Description

The Commercial Product & Platform vision develops global technology products and platforms that delight our customers and enable our crews to operate our restaurants reliably and effectively.

The Senior Manager Tech Lead for Restaurant Technology will be responsible for the technical direction, strategy, overall deployment and market adoption of a McDonald’s accuracy solution.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Establish a technical vision and strategy for restaurant products, specifically focusing on an accuracy solutionDrive the technical direction for the product, participate in any relevant partner selection, and lead a development teamLead integration discussions with applications in the McDonalds ecosystemPartner with our restaurant platform, product, and engineering teams to review architecture, solution designs and drive alignment on a Platform and Application North StarAttend all squad level ceremonies and act as the leader of the Software Development Engineers (SDE’s) of the respective squadPartner with the PM (in a Product squad) to lead the entire lifecycle of the backlog grooming processManage the output (quality and efficiency ) of external vendor & internal squads to ensure they are delivering to the standards required by McDEnsure that code development aligns with architectural, quality, and security standardsMaintain documentation standards for all software shipped by the squadAnswer technical questions from the squads and stay accountable for technical solutioningAccountable for deployment of new features including QA, push to production and defect remediationSenior manager level TLs can act as manager to several manager level TLsAct as the mentor to junior TLsAssist and be the authority on features and capabilities to our engineers and other product teams to ensure alignmentCoordinate and/or implement plans to ensure that technical solutions meet the needs of the business.Develop and implement optimization experiments to validate and optimize features adoptionCollaborate across functions (e.g. Market partners, IT, and Program Management) to ensure the timely delivery of productsProvide leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others; articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers, and others; identifying and initiating projects; managing resources; driving the resolution of issues; and holding self and team accountable for results

The expected salary range for this role is $149,260 – $190,310 per year

QualificationsBachelor Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field10 plus years of technology experience required.8 plus years hands-on software development experience, with knowledge of Agile software development processSignificant software development experience, with knowledge of Agile software development processExperience engaging with team members across an at-scale, complex, global matrixed org setupExcellent understanding of latest development technologiesInfrastructure knowledgeExperience with code refactoring, design patterns, developing with a focus on design, continuous deployment, building highly scalable applications, and ensuring application securityProficient in pair programming, continuous integration, developing with tests & incremental designExperience in Agile Development, application of Agile techniques and delivery practicesEncourages the use of Agile methodologies to foster a dedicated approach in product teamsStrong communication skills with ability to explain complex technical decisions to non-technical collaboratorsA bias toward actionStrong quantitative analysis skills; expertise in analytics and proficiency in research and analysisA passion for driving an improved customer & crew experience as well as a passion for improving operationsA love of new technologies and the drive to find ways to implement better tools and processesRetail and Digital technology experienceExperience translating customer needs into product featuresStrong ability to speak to, as well as collaborate with, engineers, project managers, corporate leadership, and partnersExperience leading multi-functional teams and managing indirect reports to achieve organizational goalsExperience and expertise in project and product planning, including product definition, feature prioritization, trade-off processes, and roadmap creationCurious, committed, and a self-starter with a strong preference for taking initiative; Proven track record of accomplishing tasks
