Job Description:

Crowe LLP is seeking to hire an experienced Tax professional to join our Tax Standards, Quality, and Risk (SQR) team. SQR is responsible for educating and supporting tax professionals on professional responsibilities; maintaining and implementing internal Tax policies; administering the annual Tax Quality Review; maintaining and supporting the Tax contract library; and supporting Tax personnel in risk identification and management. SQR team members do not generally work directly with external clients. Travel may comprise up to 15% of your schedule. SQR scheduled work hours are generally consistent throughout the year with limited impact from tax deadlines.

As a Tax SQR Senior Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

Conduct/supervise/build out the Tax Quality Review program to assess compliance with Crowe Tax Policy and applicable statutory, regulatory, and professional requirementsSupport the development of policies and procedures relating to tax servicesDevelop and present educational materials to Tax personnel on professional responsibilities, quality, and risksConsult with Tax compliance and consulting professionals on professional standards, contracting, and risk management issuesLiaise with other practice support areas including Firmwide Risk, Legal Counsel, and ITConsult on the quality and risk aspects of Tax software such as CCH Axcess, GoSystem RS, OneSource Income Tax Provision and Preparation, Icertis Contract Management


Essential Job Functions

Lead the development and implementation of internal Tax policiesWork with the Firm’s National Office to ensure Tax personnel compliance with the International Standard on Quality Management (ISQM) 1Support the development and enforcement of Tax compliance and consulting proceduresOversee the annual Tax compliance and consulting quality review programOversee Tax contract maintenance and assist Tax personnel in the contracting processConsult with Tax compliance and consulting professionals on Firm policy, professional standards, and risk management issuesMaintain Tax Standards, Quality, and Risk documentation repositoryDevelop and present educational materials to Tax personnel on professional responsibilities, quality, and risk managementServe as a secondary client acceptance reviewerLiaise with other practice support areas including Firmwide Risk, Legal Counsel, and ITMonitor emerging issues impacting Tax risk management


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree requiredCPA or JDAt least seven years of progressive experience providing compliance and/or consulting tax services in a medium to large sized public accounting firmMeticulous attention to detailExcellent communication skills and ability to articulate issues, rules, objective application of facts thereto, and conclusions drawnStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to preserve confidentiality and exercise discretionAbility to work under pressureAbility to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and prioritiesRemote work is an option

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $99,000.00 - $248,500.00 per year.
