**About the Team**
We are a team of dedicated and highly motivated engineers at Nutanix, a customer-focused group of over 800 technical sales professionals world-wide. We provide pre-sales consulting, technical guidance, and hands-on assistance to customers and ecosystem partners. Our team successfully collaborates with the sales teams to recommend and design effective customer solutions using Nutanix offerings. What sets us apart is our dedication to delivering personalized and appropriate solutions to meet each customer's unique needs.
**Your Role**
As the System Engineering Manager for Japan, you are responsible for leadership, strategy, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous learning. You carry out a variety of activities to drive the success of the presales team and intern the success of sales organization in Japan to achieve sales targets, and ensure customer satisfaction and business growth.
+ Partner with Sales leadership for "meetings that move the needle" with senior leaders in key accounts.
+ Engage and influence a community of passionate technology leaders, who want to share their best practices in transforming their teams and companies.
+ Identify opportunities to bring content and perspective to senior executives in our target market.
+ Champion our users' needs internally by providing invaluable feedback to the product and engineering team.
+ Deliver compelling presentations on market trends and thought leadership topics.
+ Continue to position Nutanix, as a technical thought leader, as the industry leader in HCI, AI, and multi-hybrid-cloud solutions.
Leadership and Team Management:
+ Provides overall leadership, direction, and guidance to the team.
+ Sets strategic goals, objectives, and performance expectations.
+ Mentors and develops team members' skills and competencies.
+ Ensures effective collaboration and communication within the team.
+ Conducts performance evaluations and provides feedback.
+ Recruits and hires new team members as needed.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
+ Develops and implements strategic plans to achieve business objectives.
+ Aligns team goals and activities with the overall organizational strategy.
+ Monitors and evaluates progress towards strategic goals.
+ Makes data-driven decisions to optimize team performance and outcomes.
+ Identifies opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Business Development and Sales Support:
+ Collaborates with sales teams to drive revenue growth and customer success.
+ Supports sales activities by providing technical expertise and guidance.
+ Engages with key customers to understand their needs and provide solutions.
+ Identifies market trends, competitive landscape, and new business opportunities.
+ Participates in sales meetings, presentations, and customer negotiations.
Cross-functional Collaboration
+ Collaborates with other departments, such as product management, engineering, and marketing, to ensure alignment and successful execution of initiatives.
+ Provides input and feedback on product development, roadmap, and features.
+ Coordinates with marketing teams to develop and execute effective go-to-market strategies.
+ Facilitates communication and collaboration between teams to drive synergies and cross-functional success.
Customer Relationship Management:
+ Builds and maintains strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
+ Understands customer needs, challenges, and industry trends.
+ Ensures customer satisfaction and success through effective solution delivery.
+ Conducts regular customer business reviews and provides strategic insights.
+ Addresses customer concerns, escalations, and provides exceptional support.
+ People Development and Talent Management:
+ Nurtures a culture of learning, growth, and innovation within the team.
+ Develops and implements talent management strategies.
+ Identifies high-potential employees and provides opportunities for their development.
+ Promotes diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
+ Monitors and analyzes key performance metrics and reports.
+ Provides regular updates and reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.
+ Identifies areas of improvement and implements corrective actions.
+ Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
+ Manages budgets, resources, and financial performance within the team.
**What You Will Bring**
+ 10+ years of Sr. Pre-Sales Engineer and 3+ years of experience in managing presales organization.
+ Deep knowledge of Hybrid Cloud and Infrastructure technologies.
+ Go-To-Market - Prior experience leading early stage go to market technology initiatives.
+ Expert Level Skills- In Enterprise architecture, IT Governance and Controls, Risk Management, and IT Service delivery.
+ Track record of achievement in high-growth environments.
+ Opinionated public positions on key trends in the IT and economic landscape.
+ Outstanding verbal, written, and visual communication and presentation skills.
+ Outstanding ability to influence, motivate, and mentor others.
+ BS or BA Degree
**Work Arrangement**
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
