Strategic Business Coverage oversees and manages strategic risks inherent to new products and services and longer term business plans. Strategic Business Coverage manages various risk processes to successfully identify, report and mitigate strategic risks across business lines. **What You’ll Be Doing** As the Senior Manager, you will be responsible for building relationships with first line business partners, to support the bank in identifying and managing its strategic risks. Within this scope, the Senior Manager supports risk reporting for various management committees, including the Board. _At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 3_ _days per week on average on-site_ _, while other days will be remote._ **How You’ll Succeed** + **Business Evaluation –** Critically evaluate business specific strategies and new initiatives for strategic risk factors. Coordinate the annual alignment analysis of the US Strategic Plan and the established risk appetite. + **Risk Assessment -** Manage the material emerging and known strategic risk identification quarterly process, including preparing materials, researching metrics and trends, scheduling, and leading meetings. Additionally, you will participate in the quarterly material Emerging and Known Risk assessments across other risk types, as well as annual Risk Identification assessments across business units to proactively identify risks that may impact US strategic priorities. + **Effective Challenge –** Review and challenge business initiatives, including new products and services, strategic plans, as well as legal entity, segment and product risk appetite statements. + **Report -** Deliver regular risk reporting to senior management and various governance committees. + **Collaborate –** Work closely with the first line on the annual refresh of the strategic risk appetite statement and related strategic risk metrics. Proactively assess strategic risk Key Risk Indicators and work with stakeholders on breach action plans. + **Stay Informed -** Escalate changes in best practices or regulatory expectations for strategic planning or strategic risk management. Assist in performing gap analyses for notable events. + **Relationship Building -** Foster relationships across US strategic business units, becoming an advisor on risk-related matters and provide support where needed, including regulatory engagement. **Who You Are** + **You demonstrate experience** in risk management and governance, including risk identification, risk appetite setting and monitoring and can advise on best practices. Specifically you have at least 7 years of industry-relevant experience, ideally in compliance, risk management, or business management roles within the financial services industry. You also may have experience in commercial banking, private wealth, or capital markets businesses and related products. + **You give meaning to data** **.** You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information. You communicate detailed information in a meaningful way. This role has an expected salary range of_ **_$150,000- $185,000_** _for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
