Job Description

The Senior Manager, risk and compliance is a member of the Canada risk team, supporting Visa’s network security strategies and its compliance and supervisory obligations to regulators.  This position will play a key role in the development and execution of compliance processes in support of Visa’s Prominent Payment Systems (PPS) designation and the Retail Payments Activities Act (RPAA) while also supporting Visa’s adherence to the Code of Conduct for the Payments Industry in Canada.  Additionally, this role will partner with Visa risk peers to monitor, analyze and report on the risk performance of the Visa network.  This position will be based at Visa's offices in Toronto, reporting into Visa Canada’s Chief Risk Officer. 

Accountabilities 

Support Visa Canada’s adherence with Code of Conduct for the Payment Card Industry in Canada. This includes: Complaints management and regulatory reporting Internal and external SME support and education Management of ad hoc requests from clients and regulators related to the Code Leading Annual Attestation of Compliance process for all Canada Clients Annual Training for staff  Manage Visa’s PPS significant change reporting, incident notification reporting, and other reporting requirements related to the PPS  Manage RPAA registration, significant changes reporting  and incident notification  Consult on go-to-market strategies for risk-related programs, products and services Manage internal and external risk reporting and analysis, including support for Visa’s risk reporting roadmap Act as the Canada representative for Visa rules management-related activities (eg. rule changes. Waivers, etc.) and Visa’s New Business Assessment Initiatives Support of the Canadian Leadership Team in monitoring and reporting on Canada’s top risks Support PPS and RPAA regulatory exam and core assurance reviews Support the CRO of Visa Canada in developing and executing the risk and compliance strategy and vision for the Canadian market. 

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhDExperience in risk and regulatory compliance and/or significant exposure to the payments industry preferredA strong understanding of the Canadian payments landscape, the various Canadian payment oversight frameworks and Visa's products, services, and operationsStrong collaboration skills and teamwork with proven ability to establish productive working relationshipsHigh level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism, with a commitment to compliance culture and valuesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects under pressure and tight deadlinesA willingness to learn, adapt, and innovate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a continuous learning mindsetProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), SharePoint, Generative AI and demonstrated strength in developing presentations and collateral materials for use with key stakeholders
