Senior Manager, Retail Analytics

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

The Senior Manager, Retail Analytics and Data Solutions will be responsible for aligning data and reporting across all of Retail.  This individual will deliver information to stakeholders to enable fact-based decision making, while providing insights into the business.  Data will need to be simplified, accurate and streamlined for all users. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1.         Analytics

·       Collaborate with Retail leadership and partners to engineer & deliver complex data solutions.

·       Development of best practices for data foundation capabilities and Retail projects including Data Science.  Potential focus areas are:

o   Retail Business Performance analytics

o   Retail Operational Analytics

o   Retail Experience Analytics

o   Retail Marketing Analytics

·       Proactively contribute Retail data foundation requirements on a plan to achieve that vision.

 

2.         Consulting

·       Support analytics partners with project management and act as bridge, or single point of contact to global data science solutions

·       Provide stakeholders with actionable recommendations and calls for action based on your gathered insights. Translate gathered insights into engaging, actionable and easy to digest insights presentations.

·       Maintain a strong stakeholder network with high level of trust that facilitates action-ability of insights.

·       Drive the implementation and use of data driven decision processes, in line with a fact-based decision culture.

·       Direct training or provision of training to analytics community members on use of data sources, data processing techniques, pipeline development, and reporting / analysis best practices.

 

3.         Reporting

·       Co-initiate and help implement new reporting structures or refine existing structures within your area of responsibility in alignment with Global and NAM Retail Analytics Frameworks and Data Governance.

·       Help distill best practice guidance to other markets and other adidas stakeholders to maximize the use of analytics capabilities.

 

4.         Innovation

·       Build a strong internal and external network, informing the adidas Retail Analytics community on the latest trends and technological advances.

·       Other Data and Analytics teams within the organization

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

·       A passion for delivering data-based recommendations for quantifiable improvements in business results and consumer satisfaction.

·       Very good communication skills, comfortable presenting complex topics to stakeholders at various organizational levels both in-person and remotely

·       Very good presentation skills and storytelling

·       People management skills are required

·       Extensive experience with BI, Financial, Merchandising processes, tools and KPIs

·       Extensive project management skills, including the ability to lead projects or work on several projects simultaneously

·       Extensive experience with analytics tools and awareness of disciplines

·       Extensive experience with visualization techniques

       ·      Technical skills including hands on SQL query, Databricks/Lakehouse environment/ Python/R/Modelling, data processing, and visualization tools like Power Bi, Tableau

·       Fluent English both verbally and written

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

·       University degree in the field of Business or equivalent

·       8+ years of experience in Digital Analytics or Data Science

·       Extensive experience in BI or Data Engineering environment

·       Experience in leading and scaling a team is a plus

·       Experience in Retail environment highly preferred
