Job Description

What is the Opportunity?

The Finance Delivery Hub, a sub-function within the overarching Finance COO mandate, functions as a trusted partner, working directly with the Finance Business SME’s, leads and our business partners, to drive the end-to-end delivery and execution of projects and programs, with impacts to Financial external/internal reporting, systems and processes. The team takes ownership and accountability to ensure the output meets stakeholder expectations and is delivered within the agreed timelines and budgets. The team will function as the key conduit in bringing together the CFO teams, the Business teams, and the technology function to successfully gather and document requirements, understand and contribute to design principles and finally co-ordinate the testing approach and support the successful implementation. To achieve all of the above, the team is required to work closely with the CFO Business and Technology stakeholders.

As a trusted partner to the Finance Business, the team will play a pivotal role in recommending options and solutions, to help support senior management, make informed decisions, based on data, scalability of the solution and the overall effectiveness and benefit to the Finance function.

The role requires a reasonable knowledge of P&CB, Capital Markets and Wealth related product propositions, systems and processes and will be required to support Business funded / led initiatives, with impacts to Finance systems and processes.

What will you do?

Supports multiple senior leaders including, Director, Senior Director, VP and SVP level stakeholders, as well as the COO for the CFO Group in executing projects and delivering results to support the CFO strategic pillars and the overall RBC objectives

Recommend governance model, track progress against plan, leads updates and actively manage risks and dependenciesDefine and manage project scope, timelines, Budgets and milestones.Supports ideation and provides recommendations for the Business to selectEnsure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet stakeholder expectations.Actively participate in project execution with active Business involvementIdentify and mitigate risks associated with the project delivery and executionProvide recommendations on integrated project plans and timelinesDocument Business requirements and validate with Business stakeholdersExecuting project activities, monitoring and reportingDraft test cases, build test plans and work with the Business to support the validation of the test resultsCollaborate with IT and Finance stakeholders to prioritize projects based on business impact.Facilitate regular project updates, steering committee meetings, and stakeholder communications.Hands-on experience in the end-to-end delivery of projects and programsWork with a diverse set of Finance, Business and technology partners and build effective networking within the RBC organizationA reasonable understanding of the P&CB, Capital Markets (CM), Wealth and Insurance value propositions and delivery model, will be advantages

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

7-10 years of Finance project management experience, hands-on experience on Finance systems (General Ledger, Management Information System (MIS) etc.), processes and financial outputs or annual reporting. Hands-on experience in planning, executing and delivering large and medium scale Finance projects, re-engineering activities and automationAbility to articulate proposals and ideas concisely and confidently, backed by facts and dataPro-active problem solver and ability to work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement experience – need to demonstrate with concise examplesAbility to disrupt and challenge the status quo to drive effective project execution and deliveryHave led and chaired steering committees and governance forumsProven ability and hands-on experience in developing Business cases, Business requirements documents, Test Strategies, Test Plans, Test Scrips and Benefits tracking / realization

Nice to have

MBA, CPA/ACCA/CIMA is preferred (i.e. accounting designation or equivalent) and prior experience in a Financial Institution (FI)
