Department Overview
The Procurement organization is the functional lead for the procurement of materials and services at Pacific Gas and Electric Company. The department collaborates with internal clients and suppliers managing more than $12 billion of annual company spend to develop mutually beneficial total value solutions for goods and services. The department provides the following services to internal clients: procurement of goods and services, strategic sourcing and cost savings, category management, supplier relationship management, execution and outreach, compliance management, ongoing procurement field support and management of the source to pay cycle.
Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Professional Services Strategic Sourcing provides strategic sourcing direction and leadership for the Professional Services category. This position develops strategies and plans to reduce purchase costs and drive the greatest total cost of ownership while ensuring service excellence. This position oversees the governance of the contract approval process from contract creation through contract award for a designated portfolio. This position drives category management strategies with their team and influences key stakeholders to become trusted business advisors.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $151,000
Bay Area Maximum: $257,000
Reporting Relationship
The Senior Manager, Professional Services will report to the Senior Director, Indirect & Corporate Services Strategic Sourcing.
Job Responsibilities
Develops strategic portfolio and category plans to generate cost savings, deliver service excellence, optimize diversity of spending and total cost of ownership for multiple Portfolios across multiple lines of business.Ensures the overall governance of the contract approval process from contract creation through contract award.Oversees contract spend across multiple spend categories in multiple LOBsDevelops short- and long-term strategies for all spend categories within portfolio for multiple LOBsLeads complex cross-functional teams in the execution of strategic sourcing initiativesManages spend analysis, needs assessment, benchmarking and business case developmentLeads development and execution of negotiation strategiesApproves purchase orders and contracts from$500,000 to $10 millionMonitors and maximize customer satisfaction using standardized client service level agreementsManages continuous improvement-based relationships that deliver mutually beneficial results for PG&E and its suppliersEstablishes service level agreements to hold suppliers accountable for performanceDirect reports include multiple Portfolio Managers, Procurement Managers, and Category Leads. Through these direct reports, incumbents are responsible for all sourcing activity for the assigned areas of the businessBackground Qualifications
Minimum
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required (one year of experience for every one year of college)8 years of total sourcing or related industry experience; some positions may require technical/category experienceStrong interpersonal and relationship management skills requiredAbility to lead cross-functional teams is requiredDemonstrated leadership and management skills are requiredAbility to identify and resolve problems and implementation barriers requiredDesired
