What is the opportunity?
In RBC Infrastructure Strategy team, we’re looking for a hands-on Product Owner to lead the delivery and deployment of credit risk models and strategies that power our credit decisioning capabilities. In this role, you’ll partner with data scientists, engineers, risk experts, and business leaders to deliver models and strategies into production — at scale, on time, and with impact. You’ll translate technical details into clear action, keep delivery moving in Agile sprints, and make sure every deployment meets business goals and regulatory standards.
What will you do?
Own and manage the product backlog for deployment of risk and credit models and strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements.Translate complex model requirements into clear, actionable work for technology teams.Lead Agile delivery — sprint planning, backlog grooming, demos, and prioritization.Partner with model governance, risk, and compliance to ensure standards are met.Oversee production deployment with the right controls, metrics, and validation.Communicate model outcomes and changes in simple, clear language to all audiences.Ensure models and strategies are deployed efficiently and accurately into production systems, with clear metrics and validation procedures.Manage risks, issues, and dependencies proactively to avoid delivery roadblocks.What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
University Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Business or a related field.5+ years of experience in financial services, preferably in risk management, credit analytics, or product ownership.Proven experience working with technology teams and data science in a financial or regulated environment.Proven ability to think strategically and execute effectively, balancing long-term vision with delivery demands.Skilled in stakeholder management and influence, building alignment across diverse business and technical teams.Strong time management, facilitation and communication skills — able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Knowledge of credit lifecycle, risk modeling, or data-driven decisioning.Adaptability and problem-solving mindset to navigate challenges and changing priorities.Proven ability to manage delivery in an Agile environment (JIRA, Confluence).Collaborative mindset, comfortable working across multiple teams and priorities.Working knowledge of data manipulation on large datasets with programming in Python, SQL.Nice-to-have:
Strong understanding of credit lifecycle, risk modeling, and data-driven strategies.Knowledge of bank retail products and credit lending processes, working experience with financial and credit bureau information.Experience with leading agile teams and agile program managementExperience working in a highly matrixed enterprise environmentWhat’s in it for you?
