What is the opportunity?
RBC Cards is one of the leading credit card businesses in Canada and is a strong contributor to Canadian Banking’s revenues and profits. The business has grown tremendously in the last five years, driven by our strong suite of Credit Card products and innovative marketing efforts.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading teams through the credit card product development journey. You will lead and support product teams through the product development journey. You will also be accountable for establishing best practices and continuous improvement for product development, including managing the product development roadmap to support product development prioritization.
What will you do?
Support the business case development to enable executive leadership to prioritize products for development, facilitating and managing the Product Development Lab
Manage the product development roadmap to provide transparency for product owners, partner teams, and executive leadership
Play a key lead role during the product delivery, launch and transition to BAU phases by:
Leading Product teams through identification of high-level requirements so partner teams can efficiently understand the business intent to develop appropriate solutions
Manage overall requirements and development budgets, ensuring teams adhere to scope and overall goals
Developing standardized product test cases for integrated testing
Implement and execute standardized launch monitoring plans, augmenting where necessary, and provide launch reporting for business partners
Implement a Product Development process monitoring plan and develop and execute continuous improvement to reduce Product Development cost and efficiency
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
Excellent communication skills – ability to communicate effectively to business and technical teams, facilitate working sessions with large teams, and provide clear and concise updates to executive leadership
Proven experience taking initiative to solve complex problems and navigate ambiguity to deliver a clear plan of execution
Business acumen – ability to think strategically and develop business cases, with a solid understanding of risk management; strong understanding of client experience
Technical acumen – ability to understand technical and delivery frameworks and translate to business terms
Highly collaborative and able to thrive in a matrixed environment, with the ability to impact, influence and negotiate with key stakeholders
Experience managing a process and strategically making improvements
Nice-to-have:
Credit Cards industry experience
Technical expertise for cards product development requirements
LEAN, Six Sigma and/or Agile delivery certification
Project management experience or certification
Change management experience
