Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Caribbean Process Transformation team and ensures that business strategies, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in compliance with internal policies, procedures, and standards. This role supports the Process Transformation team by removing barriers, analyzing, and evolving business unit processes in alignment with Agile and Lean Six Sigma principles.
The position leads initiatives by conducting initial assessments and comprehensive process analyses to identify significant improvements in the bank’s organizational structures and operations.


Responsibilities
• Lead and foster a customer-centric culture across the team to deepen client relationships and leverage the Bank’s broad relationships, systems, and knowledge.
• Standardize all processes and provide support to implement best practices, ensuring compliance by applying the DMAIC methodology (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) to every studied process.
• Establish statistical measurement parameters to compare and apply best practices across Caribbean countries or beyond, aiming to standardize processes and create scalability.
• Analyze problems and trends; develop and implement programs/actions to resolve them quickly and effectively. Keep reporting lines informed of key issues and trends, recommend corrective actions, and follow up with working groups to ensure plan compliance.
• Coordinate working group activities and monitor deliverables to ensure focus and resource alignment, while promoting open communication among team members.
• Establish and maintain common project supervision and control practices with working groups and monitor progress from group leaders.
• Document, escalate, and approve changes to the established plan and identify interdepartmental dependencies.
• Communicate project progress to the Operational and Steering Committees, coordinate Executive Committee meetings, progress reports, and pre-integration readiness (Go/No-Go).
• Manage project budgets, prepare business cases, monitor status, and generate budget reports to ensure proper oversight.
• Lead the implementation of operational and/or technological projects and initiatives through innovative approaches to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Approve project plans and strategies and keep Country/Global Operations management informed of progress and issues.
• Review/recommend business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and operational procedures.
• Address obstacles and challenges, provide recommendations and solutions, and resolve issues/negotiations with stakeholders as needed.
• Monitor results, escalate deficiencies, and follow up until resolved.
• Understand the Bank’s risk culture and how risk appetite should be considered in daily activities and decisions.
• Create an environment where the team operates efficiently and effectively while ensuring the adequacy, compliance, and effectiveness of daily business controls to mitigate operational, regulatory, AML/ATF, and conduct risks.
• Promote a high-performance environment and implement a workforce strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates the team. Foster an inclusive work environment, communicate vision, values, and business strategy, and manage succession and development plans.
• Maintain a comprehensive risk management process for relationships with suppliers of goods and services, including due diligence as per Scotiabank policies.
• Develop and maintain a continuous improvement process for the role’s functions, ensuring efficient execution aligned with internal control mechanisms and institutional policies.


Skills

• Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Agile, and Scrum.
• Expert knowledge in project management, Lean Six Sigma, process improvement, and operational experience.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills (oral and written) to effectively engage with staff and business lines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio) and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Experience working independently and in collaborative, results-oriented environments.
• Flexibility and proven ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and deadlines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• 3–5 years of experience in a Process Transformation environment, including business analysis, organizational structure transformation, process improvement, and cost reduction.
