Our Genetics Sciences Division (GSD) in the Life Sciences Solutions Group serves customers in research, academia, industrial, and applied markets. We craft, manufacture, and support high-performance instruments, reagents, and assays.
The Senior Manager, PPI will implement the PPI Business System, partnering with Business Units including HID, CE, qPCR, and MA, and Functions including GSS, Commercial, and Marketing, to drive profitable growth within GSD or equivalent experience. This role ensures PPI principles support strategic and operational business plans.
Partner with SG&A functions in multiple business units to promote a problem-solving culture.
Key Responsibilities:Drive improvements through leadership-level kaizens, 3P, RCA, and other workshops across all functions of the organization, including prioritizing, executing, and executive presentations of results.Partner with SG&A leadership to ensure an efficiency pipeline of critical initiatives aligned with business priorities, metrics, and results. Establish sustainability and governance mechanisms.Facilitate PPI workshops and training sessions to build capability within SG&A teams. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement projects, report performance to senior leadership.Lead PPI Steering Committee to maintain an active pipeline of PPI projects aligned with business priorities. Ensure sustainability mechanisms for past projects.Serve as a subject matter expert for Lean concepts, training, and tools application in support of high-impact initiatives. Coach the coaches.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Proven leadership skills, including the ability to work in a matrixed environment.Digital and automation expertise in one or more areas, including GenAI, RPA, machine learning, or low code development.Ability to manage/influence across and up into the organization without direct reporting responsibility.Motivate cross-functional teams to drive customer happiness through business process improvement.Impactful communicator (verbal and written) with the ability to positively influence leadership and all organizational levels.Experience and Education:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Operations, Business, or related field or equivalent experience required.Minimum 8 years of Lean leadership expertise, with extensive experience implementing end-to-end Business-level change initiatives.Minimum 4 years of leadership experience in function other than PPI, such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Quality.Black Belt certification preferred.Strong experience developing, training, and mentoring teams.Proficiency in PPI tools, including standard work, process and product 3P, Value-Analysis/Value Engineering, error-proofing, material flow, and kanban.Strong financial and statistical acuity with experience helping teams build efficiency funnels and active project decks to exceed targeted levels.Demonstrated project management skills.For more information on our benefits, please visit: https://jobs.thermofisher.com/global/en/total-rewardsCompensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in United Kingdom is £66,000.00–£107,000.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
