The Senior Manager, PfizerWorld Editor-in-Chief is responsible for helping to shape and execute the company’s internal communication strategy for PfizerWorld, Pfizer’s global intranet site, and other internal channels (e.g., Viva Engage, Teams) to deliver engaging, innovative, and essential information to colleagues globally. Reporting to the Vice President, Pfizer World, this strategic leadership role is responsible for overseeing the ongoing development, governance and evolution of the global intranet as a core platform for colleague connection, communications and culture. This role will drive the enterprise-wide intranet strategy to ensure alignment with business goals, enhance user experience, and strengthen colleague engagement across geographies and functions.
In addition to intranet oversight, the Senior manager leads the strategic use of complementary digital channels—such as Viva Engage, Teams and other collaboration tools—to deliver timely, relevant and engaging content to colleagues. They will partner closely with internal communications and other functions and leaders to identify key messages, amplify initiatives and create a cohesive digital communications ecosystem.
What You Will Achieve
In this role, you will:
Active Outreach and Consultation:
Conduct ongoing outreach to stakeholders across the organization to understand communications needs, promote adoption and gather feedback to continuously improve the digital colleague experience.
Ensures content governance, measurement and innovation across platforms to optimize reach, relevance and impact.
Content Strategy and Innovation:
Develop and implement a dynamic content strategy that aligns with company goals and drives colleague engagement.
Explore and integrate new and innovative content tools such as videos, podcasts, interactive polls, and user-generated content.
Stay informed about internal communication trends and best practices, identifying and piloting new technologies to enhance the intranet experience.
Editorial Leadership and Governance:
Oversee all aspects of the intranet’s editorial process, including content planning, creation, editing, and publishing.
Ensure consistency in voice, tone, and brand identity across all content.
Develop and implement content governance policies, workflows, and procedures for content creation, approval, and archiving.
Collaborate with content creators and owners across the organization to align contributions with editorial standards and strategy.
Proficiency with Artificial Intelligence is highly desirable.
Employee Engagement and Community Building:
Collaborate with the Colleague Communications and Engagement team to design and implement initiatives to encourage colleague interaction across digital channels, collaboration, and knowledge sharing, utilizing forums, discussion boards, and colleague spotlights.
Promote a social intranet experience that fosters connections and a sense of community among colleagues across teams and locations.
Partner with People Experience to recognize colleague achievements and milestones, boosting morale and engagement through the intranet platform.
Analytics and Optimization:
Work closely with the Digital team to enhance existing intranet analytics tools to track KPIs such as content engagement, user adoption, search effectiveness, and colleague satisfaction.
Leverage data insights to continuously refine content strategy and platform features, ensuring ongoing relevance and value for colleagues.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
BA/BS with 6+ years of experience or MBA/MS with 5+ years of experience in internal communications, digital communications or colleague communications
Proven experience leading intranet strategy, editorial leadership, and internal communications, ideally within a large, complex organization.
Demonstrated ability to generate and implement innovative ideas that drive employee engagement and platform adoption.
Strong understanding of intranet best practices, design principles, and relevant technologies, including AI integration and mobile accessibility.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and manage contributors.
Experience with user feedback mechanisms and data-driven approaches to optimize content and user experience.
Experience leading cross-functional teams.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and advise senior leaders across various functions.
Track record of building strong partnerships with colleagues and teams in Digital, PX and business functions to drive alignment and adoption.
Change agent comfortable operating in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Strategic thinker with a passion for colleague experience and digital innovation.
This position requires a visionary leader who can transform the company intranet into a dynamic hub of communication, collaboration, and employee experience.
Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)
Master's degree and relevant pharmaceutical experience.
Ability to transfer business priorities into engaging digital experiences for employees.
Experience in data-driven decisions-making for improving user experiencing and engagement.
Understanding of colleague engagement trends and digital workplace best practices.
Knowledge of enterprise collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams, Viva Engage).
Experience in video production and editing a plus.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $120,800.00 to $201,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
