What is the opportunity?

As Senior Manager, Personal Banking Climate Initiatives Delivery, you will support the development and delivery of key Personal Banking climate initiatives as part of RBC’s ambition to be the bank of choice for the transition to a low-carbon and resilient economy.

This dynamic role will report to the Director, Personal Banking Climate COE Lead, and is a key part of the Personal Banking Climate Centre of Excellence. You will work closely with other members of the broader Personal Banking & Commercial Banking Sustainability Team as well as key PB lines of business to deliver value for clients, drive business priorities, and support front-line and National Office teams. You will also serve as a key partner and subject matter expert for colleagues across the retail bank on consumer climate mitigation and resilience issues and actions.

The ideal candidate is effective and comfortable working in ambiguity and continually evolving contexts. You have strong experience working across complex organizations and managing diverse stakeholder relationships while delivering projects, pilots, and initiatives. You have aptitude in tackling business problems and advancing practical, real-world solutions. You have passion for climate action and a keen interest in how individuals and households can protect against extreme weather and reduce their carbon emissions.

What will you do?  

In partnership with PB functions and lines of business, support development of climate initiatives, including identifying opportunities to deliver client and business value, building out business cases, creating work plans, and providing thoughtful recommendationsLead and deliver initiatives end-to-end aligned with climate and business strategic priorities, including setting objectives, defining scope, conducting research and analyses, developing materials, tracking against roadmaps and timelines, and collaborating with stakeholders Partner with other members of PB&CB Sustainability, regional banking enablement, LOBs, marketing, and other relevant teams to plan client events, launch pilots, create “test and learns,” and other go-to-market projects to deliver client valueBuild and maintain trusted relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in for initiativesDefine, track, and report on project metrics and key indicators, including communicating regular updates to PB leadership and partners, maintaining dashboards, and preparing briefs to facilitate Senior Management Team discussionsAdapt and evolve initiatives as necessary to reflect changes in external climate landscape and market conditions while staying rooted in meeting client needsMaintain a retail client-first mindset, ensuring that the views of consumers and RBC personal banking clients, as well as our client-facing and advisor colleagues, are embedded within the team’s workKeep up to date on climate trends, news, and innovations and share insights with PB & CB Sustainability Team as well as LOB and function partnersCoordinate with other climate teams across RBC to stay connected and ensure alignment with enterprise priorities and programs Foster an effective and collaborative work culture with a dynamic, high-performing team

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Proven track record of delivering complex initiatives and programs across multiple lines of business in a business lead roleExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate across a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of the organizationDemonstrated business and financial acumen around business and client trends and value driversDemonstrated ability to be a self-starter, proactive, able to work independently and resourcefully to meet expected outcomesComfort with navigating ambiguity and experience with putting structure to amorphous business problems and seeing them through to clear and defined solutionsDemonstrated ability to perform well under pressure, meet time sensitive deadlines, prioritize work and multi-task responsibilities while working on multiple projectsA collaborative team-oriented mindset with proficiency in coordinating large groups of colleagues

Nice-to-have

MBA or professional graduate / post-graduate degreeExperience working on climate-related initiatives and understanding of climate action in business contextsExperience developing and implementing personal banking strategyExperience in personal banking customer-facing roles
