Senior Manager, Payments Security (Global Security)

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

As a Senior Manager on the Payments Security team, you will take on a critical role in safeguarding RBC’s payments infrastructure and ensuring its compliance with regulatory and security standards. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing the execution of security assessments, governance processes, and attestation activities for payments applications, while driving enterprise alignment and standardization across these efforts. You will lead initiatives to evaluate and enhance the security posture of payments systems, ensuring resilience against emerging threats and compliance with regulatory requirements.

What will you do?

Lead the strategic planning and oversight of payments-related cyber security regulatory assessments to ensure compliance with enterprise control procedures and evolving security requirements.Establish and refine security assessment processes, procedures, and documentation to support audits, regulatory reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.Drive initiatives to standardize, centralize, and integrate AI-driven automation into security assessments to enhance consistency, efficiency, and scalability while reducing manual resource demands.Foster cross-functional collaboration by coordinating with internal teams across Global Security, Payments, Tech Infrastructure, Group Risk Management, and AI innovation units to align enterprise-wide control standards, frameworks, and emerging technologies.Oversee the preparation, analysis, and delivery of comprehensive assessment reports to senior stakeholders, focusing on compliance status, security risks, AI-driven insights, and actionable improvement recommendations.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Leadership experience in managing teams, program governance and driving security programs at scaleProven experience in cybersecurity risk management, industry best practices and control frameworksExcellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to convey technical and risk information, make actionable recommendations to senior leadership and drive alignment and decision making across diverse groupsExceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, capable of navigating complex risk environments and prioritizing initiativesRelevant certifications in security or risk management: e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, PCI Qualified Assessor, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, CompTIA Security+, GIAC Systems and Network Auditor (GSNA)

Nice-to-have

Direct experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, etc.)Knowledge of cyber security, compliance, security control frameworks and risk management principlesAbility to deploy agile or design thinking methodologies, tools and processesPayments and financial services experience, particularly with international standards and regulationsExperience with automation and process improvement
