Senior Manager, Materials Quality, Footwear
**About the Role** As the **Senior Manager, Footwear Raw Material Quality** , you will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality management systems for footwear materials across VF’s global supplier base. This role ensures that all materials meet VF’s quality, performance, and sustainability standards, while fostering strong partnerships with suppliers and internal teams. You will play a critical leadership role in managing a regional team, driving supplier performance, and ensuring material quality from concept through to final production. This position is ideal for a strategic thinker with deep technical knowledge, strong leadership skills, and a passion for quality and innovation. **Key Responsibilities** + Partner with Product Development, Global Materials, Sourcing, and Compliance teams to align on quality goals and elevate material standards. + Evaluate new tanneries, factories, and vendors to ensure readiness and alignment with VF’s quality expectations. + Use supplier scorecards and analytics to drive continuous improvement and accountability. + Lead material certification and training efforts, especially for performance and lifestyle footwear. + Manage the regional material quality team to ensure compliance across all supply chain tiers (T2 to T1). + Provide suppliers with clear expectations, technical standards, and improvement roadmaps. + Strengthen communication strategies across development, sourcing, and testing labs. + Act as a connector between business areas, aligning stakeholders and driving cross-functional execution. **What We’re Looking For** Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Textile, or Chemical fields (preferred). + Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. + Experience in raw material R&D, manufacturing, or related fields. + Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Experience managing global teams and projects. Technical & Professional Skills + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau. + Familiarity with 5S, ISO 9001, 8D problem solving, SPC, CPK, Six Sigma, and FMEA. + Knowledge of manufacturing operations and technical documentation.
