As the Senior Manager, LATAM Nutrition Science, you’ll lead the Nutrition Science team in LATAM and function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME): nutrition and clinical science expertise to translate complex science and research into innovative product opportunities, compelling product claims and scientific messaging; communicate the science and product benefits to both internal and external audiences of varying knowledge levels; remain current in standards of nutrition care and scientific literature; represent Nutrition Science in cross-functional initiatives and programs. **What You’ll Do** + Establish and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., medical affairs, platform scientists, product development, commercial (marketing and sales, sales training, public affairs, regulatory) and external stakeholders (e.g., key opinion leaders, customers and consumers). + Innovation and evidence generation: Accountable for strategic planning and tactical implementation as it relates to nutrition innovation for nutrition science, research and development areas. Proactively lead product ideation and innovation to build product pipeline; assess new ingredients and technologies; develop clinical research strategy that generates new evidence for new claims, messaging, and publications; engage in clinical research, secondary data analytics. + Communication skills (oral and written). Prepare and deliver nutrition science-based content and presentations to internal and external audiences. Ensure good communication to maximize cross-functional working and synergies across other teams. Ensure top to down communication about business strategies and any other information direct reports need to fulfill the requirements. Develop and review AN product and science educational materials (e.g., product monographs, training materials, medical justifications, FAQ documents, white papers, scientific backgrounders, as well as manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals). + Cross-functional partnership: Serve SME and nutrition science lead on cross-functional teams, including new product development teams, process improvement, external programs and collaborations. Participate proactively in M&P initiatives and S&OP meetings. Prepare and/or contribute to Medical related policies and procedures, implement them and calculate relevant KPIs on a monthly basis. + Competitive surveillance: maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitors’ products, ingredients, features, and benefits; claims; educational events; understand implications of competitor activities to Abbott Nutrition. + Represent Abbott Nutrition at key conferences or meetings to engage KOLs and actively participate in company-sponsored events and activities. + Manage the development of all direct reports. Ensure all team members have personal development plans, impact goals and yearly appraisals.
