What is the opportunity?
The IT and Cyber Risk Senior Manager is responsible for supporting the 1st line oversight management of technology and cyber risks for Personal and Commercial Banking segments. This role entails collaborating with cross-functional risk, technology and business teams to identify, assess, and mitigate technology risk profiles across both segments. Key responsibilities include oversight on change risk assessments (RTAs) initiated by the lines of business, monitoring and reporting on the line of business IT & Cyber risk exposures, as well as leading initiatives to promote risk, security, and compliance awareness within PB & CB. The incumbent will work closely with the Operational Risk Directors within PB & CB, and the LOB Business Risk teams.
What will you do?
Help the lines of business identify IT & Cyber risks and recommend appropriate controls/mitigations within PB & CBMonitor and report on risk, technology, and security compliance metricsLead initiatives to promote risk, security, and compliance awarenessCollaborate with cross-functional risk teams to ensure applications adhere to established compliance thresholds and maintain a strong security postureAnalyze areas of perceived elevated or emerging cyber risks, recommending mitigation strategies and escalating where requiredManage Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to IT & Cyber riskMonitor vulnerability management reporting, server hygiene, and penetration test vulnerabilities produced by the teams within T&OEnsure LOB business risk teams are updated and kept aware of what is required to be compliantSupport the preparation and interpretation of risk dashboards, reports, and metrics to senior management and governance forums on IT risk and cyber securityOversee and support the lines of business in the implementation of risk mitigation plans, control enhancements, and issue remediation related to technology and cyber risksLead risk and control assessments to ensure compliance with RBC's IT risk management policies & standardsLiaise/participate in internal/external – servicing audit requests, understanding gaps identified, monitoring remedial efforts to ensure timely completionWhat will you need to succeed?
Must-have
Extensive experience in operational risk management, risk assessments, and leadershipStrong knowledge and experience of risk and control assessment processes, risk protocols, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices for risk management Strong understanding of banking operations, financial services regulatory landscape, and relevant technologyExcellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills Proven time management skills and attention to detail; must be highly organizedStrong influencing, collaboration, and relationship-building skills, with an inquisitive nature and comfort challenging current practicesNice to have
Professional technology risk designations (e.g. CISA, CRISC, CISSP) and university graduate or equivalentExperience with Archer, SharePoint, and collaboration tools (e.g. JIRA and Confluence) with expertise in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint)Familiarity with RBC's organization and cultureKnowledge of RBC businesses and productsStrategic thinking with excellent communication skills across management at all levels of seniorityWhat's in it for you?
