Senior Manager, International Compliance & IWM & GBM&T **Requisition ID:** 227982 We are committed to investing in our employees and helping you continue your career at Scotiabank. **Introduction Paragraph** The Senior Manager, GBM&T IB Compliance supports the Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) Program for Global Banking & Markets and Treasury (GBM&T) business lines operating in International Banking (IB) countries. This role ensures compliance with global regulations and alignment with Scotiabank’s internal policies and ethical standards. The position plays a key role in managing relationships and providing oversight to ensure the effective execution of compliance strategies and initiatives. **Is This Role Right for You? In this role, you will:** •Ensure the GBM&T Compliance program is executed effectively in IB locations in collaboration with subject matter experts. •Provide independent oversight and challenge across the IB RCM Program, supporting the Chief Compliance Officer’s opinion. •Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks while advising local Compliance and Internal Control teams. •Monitor global regulatory developments and identify opportunities for process and technology improvements. •Promote effective and efficient operations aligned with Scotiabank’s Values and compliance frameworks. •Develop and maintain global frameworks, standards, and documentation relevant to IB Compliance. •Assist in reviewing governance documents in Spanish and support compliance training delivery. •Support reporting of key risks/events and violations to senior management and committees. **Do You Have the Skills?** •Experience in regulatory compliance within financial services, preferably in international banking. •Strong understanding of compliance risk management frameworks and regulatory environments. •Ability to provide effective challenge and independent oversight of compliance activities. •Skilled in identifying and mitigating compliance risks and advising on regulatory matters. •Familiarity with operational risk, privacy, and conduct risk frameworks. •Strong communication and relationship-building skills across global teams. •Experience with compliance reporting and governance documentation. •Proficiency in Spanish is essential for reviewing translated materials. •Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. •Knowledge of Scotiabank’s internal policies and ethical standards is preferred. Education: •Bachelor's Degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field (required) •Advanced degree or professional certification in Compliance, Risk Management, or related discipline (preferred) Software Skills: •Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) •Experience with compliance management systems and regulatory reporting tools •Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Excel PivotTables or Power BI •Knowledge of GRC platforms (e.g., Archer, MetricStream) is an asset **What’s In It for You?** •Opportunity to influence and shape compliance practices across international banking operations. •Exposure to global regulatory environments and strategic compliance initiatives. •Collaboration with diverse teams across Compliance, Internal Control, and Business Lines. •A dynamic and supportive work environment that values ethical conduct and continuous improvement. •Flexibility to work in both office-based and remote settings.
