ABOUT VEG
In 2014, VEG was born with a mission to help people and their pets when they need it most by challenging norms and fixing the ER experience. Since then, we’ve expanded rapidly, with hospitals nationwide open 24/7/365, and created an ER experience that focuses on what our pets and pet parents really need. We’ve done the same for our people (VEGgies), finding a way to say YES so they can feel empowered to achieve great things, grow in unexpected ways, and find a place where they truly belong.
We’re rethinking emergency care from every angle—from how we run our hospitals to how we support the people working inside them. That’s where our headquarters team comes in. Whether building technology to make our hospitals more efficient, recruiting and growing incredible VEGgies, or bringing our brand to life through marketing, our VQ (VEG Headquarters) team makes it all possible—ensuring our hospitals and people have everything they need to help pets and their families.
VEG is a 2025 certified Great Place to Work®.
THE JOB
At VEG, we find a way to say YES—so you can push boundaries, think creatively, and make a real impact. As a Senior Manager of Internal Communications, you’re a strategic communicator with a deep love for writing, a passion for storytelling, and a knack for making complex information feel simple and engaging. You thrive in fast-paced environments, see the big picture, and aren’t afraid to get into the weeds—bringing exceptional organizational and people skills to every project.
Reporting to the Director of Internal Communications, you’re a natural collaborator who builds strong relationships across departments and communicates with clarity and empathy—whether you’re talking to a veterinary nurse, a hospital manager, or a senior executive. You’ve led internal communications for large, distributed teams, and feel confident managing both people and projects. You bring an ownership mindset, and VEGgies love working with you.
You care deeply about team culture, consistency, and making sure every VEGgie—no matter where they work—feels informed, connected, and inspired. If you’re a proactive communicator ready to say YES to growth, innovation, and building something that truly matters, we want you on our team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Write, Edit, and Create: Develop engaging, clear, and on-brand content for our intranet and engagement platforms, newsletters, meeting decks, internal updates, and campaigns. Ensure consistent messaging and alignment with the organization's mission, objectives and values. Own the Content Calendar: Strategically build and manage the internal content calendar. Align messaging across departments and different channels, ensuring the content is timely, relevant, and consistent. Lead Internal Meetings: Own planning and execution of company-wide internal meetings (e.g.,bi-annual town halls as well as monthly hospital leadership meetings), using the content calendar to guide content development, and ensure there is post-meetings follow-up. Support Cross-Departmental Alignment: While the Director interacts directly with all departments monthly, you will gather the necessary information, collaborate with those stakeholders, and turn their strategic discussions into clear, actionable communications and content - providing recommendations in channels and communication approach. Interpret and Share Insights: Review analytics prepared by the Internal Communications Manager to identify trends and assess communication impact. Summarize findings and deliver insights to senior leadership. Leverage Tools for Execution: Use Monday.com to organize workflows, track deadlines, stakeholder information delivery and coordinate cross-functional input. Travel to the Frontlines: Travel as needed to visit hospitals, gather real-world insights, and build relationships with frontline teams across regions.
