Senior Manager, Inside Sales (Hospitality)

The Senior Hospitality Inside Sales Manager is responsible for driving profitable sales growth, managing a team of 12-14 local and remote sales representatives, and executing strategies to grow market share within the hospitality segment. This role combines hands-on coaching to develop sales skills, ensuring representatives increase share of wallet and achieve objectives in sales, margin, and retention. The manager will identify critical success factors to motivate and guide the team, while adhering to ethical standards and incorporating quality considerations into decision-making.

 

In addition to managing the team, the Senior Hospitality Inside Sales Manager will research market opportunities, deploy strategies to maximize results, and collaborate across internal and external partners, including vendors, marketing, product management, and executive leadership. This role also oversees the annual operating plan, sales forecasting, and budgeting to maintain a competitive market position and meet stakeholder commitments. As a key contributor to broader organizational strategy, the manager will ensure the hospitality team delivers on all objectives to drive growth and shareholder value.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Leadership: Successfully lead the sales efforts of a team of 12-14 Inside Account Managers (AMs), ensuring revenue growth and team performance. Hire, train, and motivate staff to build a high-performing team, with several individuals eligible for promotion within the appropriate timeframe. Manage performance, provide ongoing coaching, training, and technical assistance to AMs, resulting in increased customer penetration and growth. Collaborate with internal and external partners to drive results and effectively communicate changes when warranted. Strategy and Tactics: Participate in the development and execution of ISO sales and margin plans, ensuring compliance with company standards and federal/state regulations. Stay informed on marketplace trends and customer business issues, leveraging technologies and news sources to provide senior leadership with recommendations for assortment and service enhancements. Evaluate customer experiences and communicate results to stakeholders, aligning efforts with ISO key performance drivers. Coordinate with other ODP Business Solutions sales organizations to create a unified customer-facing presentation, driving profitable growth and market penetration. Analyze customer data to identify business needs, expansion opportunities, and align resources for mutual benefit.  Drive for Performance: Develop and implement systems and processes to optimize sales strategies and tactics. Review weekly sales-to-goal reports to drive performance and conduct quarterly performance reviews with direct reports. Identify new business opportunities and present business cases to senior leadership to improve profitability for ODP Business Solutions Field Sales and Inside Sales. Collaborate with Sales Directors and peers to develop strategies that maximize new business development and drive results.

 

Education and Experience:

Level of Formal Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Area of Study: Business/Sales/Marketing Minimum Years of Experience: 8 Type of Experience:        Experience managing a sales team Experience managing business relationships Must understand basic selling principles in B2B environment or have the ability to learn Proven track record of staffing, developing and managing an  effective and successful sales team with a high customer relationship focus Must have strong coaching/development/motivational skills Technical Competencies & Information Systems:              Basic computer skills and the ability to use computers and technology for information, and to access information necessary to complete the job.
