Senior Manager, Group Product Management

What you'll do:

As a Senior Manager, Group Product Management your key area of responsibility will be defining and executing the strategic vision for the portfolio, ensuring that all product initiatives align with Geotab’s long-term business objectives and prioritizing customer needs. You will need to work closely with senior leadership, technology development, and other key stakeholders to define competitive positioning, market development, and go-to-market strategies

To be successful in this role you will possess advanced leadership in both product and people management, with a commitment to collaboration, innovation, and delivering impactful, market-leading product. In addition, the successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve well-judged decisions.

How you'll make an impact:

Define the overarching vision across multiple product roadmaps, ensuring alignment and prioritization across teams and fostering collaboration to support long-term growth and influence the broader product strategy.

Ensure the portfolio maintains a balanced focus on new innovation, adapting to market shifts, addressing technical debt, and enhancing in-life products to drive sustainable growth and long-term value.

Partner closely with senior leadership, technology development, and other key stakeholders to define competitive positioning, market development, and go-to-market strategies.

Champion a customer-focused culture within the team by engaging directly with customers, partners, and stakeholders to refine value propositions and inform product direction.

Drive a data-oriented culture across product teams, connecting insights and success metrics across portfolios to align with strategic objectives and foster growth within the Product Management team.

Contribute to helping develop and improve processes of the overall product management team in conjunction with other Group Product Managers to enable overall success of the team.

Drive company-wide alignment on product roadmaps by clearly communicating the vision, strategy, priorities, and progress for the pillar, ensuring that all stakeholders, including partners and customers, understand the "Why" behind strategic initiatives.

Foster a workplace culture that aligns with Geotab’s mission, vision, and values, driving a positive and collaborative environment.

Lead the hiring and resource management processes, ensuring the team is equipped with the right talent and skills.

Oversee the performance and activities of direct reports, providing clear direction and empowering team members to succeed.

Coach and mentor the team, offering feedback, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting ongoing development.

Collaborate with team members during performance management cycles, helping them meet KPAs and advance in their career development.

What you'll bring to the role:

10+ years working experience with a focus in product management and proficiency people leadership skills is required.

Experience with hardware product development with strong understanding of customer and market research requirements.

Experience in B2B, SaaS environments an asset.

Strategic mindset, with a keen sense of priorities, along with an ability to pivot as the landscape changes.

Proven experience leading and managing high performing teams in a cross-functional business matrix environment.

Experience working within a technical or engineering organization is an asset.

High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.

Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.

Strong project management and organization skills to be able to identify needs, develop solutions and manage products from discovery to launch.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort with delivering presentations and training.

Must stay relevant to technology and should have the flexibility to adapt to the growing technology and market demands.

Leadership experience in a team-oriented workplace.

Success with coaching and development of employees.

Strong interpersonal relationship building skills.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve well-judged decisions.

A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.

Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).

Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
