Senior Manager, Medical Publications (Hybrid)
The Opportunity:
In this role, you will be a publications expert responsible for supporting the development and harmonization of global publication strategies into the Integrated Strategic Publication Planning (ISPP) process and lead the compliant execution of publications across selected therapeutic areas. You will ensure timely, high-quality, and compliant scientific publications that advance medical knowledge, support data dissemination, and strengthen CSL Behring’s leadership in biotechnology. This includes author interactions, writing, and vendor management in conjunction with good publication practices and internal processes and guidance documents.
This highly visible position also requires developing strategic understanding and knowledge of assigned products and effective cross-functional alignment during the planning process and communication during all portions of development and execution of the publication plans.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Medical TA leads, Medical Operations, and crossfunctional stakeholders to develop strategic publication plans for select productsResponsible for execution of assigned publications (including abstracts, posters/oral presentations, and manuscripts) according to timelines of the publication plans and per business needs, in compliance with standard operating procedures/industry standardsResponsible for vendor management relating to assigned publicationsProvide leadership and guidance to internal and external authors and other key stakeholders in the development of publication plans and strategy at the individual dataset, study, compound, and/or therapeutic area levelFollow and stay abreast of any updates to publication-related guidelines including but not limited to International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICJME), Good Publication Practice (GPP), CONSORT Guidelines, American Medical Association (AMA) Manual of Style, and Council of Biology EditorsParticipate in the development and maintenance of document templates, style guides, electronic document management and publication review and approval systemEnsure utilization of the publication management system for publication-related activities for the responsible productsProvide oversight of completed, ongoing and future publications and manage a publication tracker, dashboard, and metrics for assigned productsParticipate in budget tracking, forecasting, and long-range planning for strategic growthEnsure appropriate copyright is obtained for all MA related assetsAbout You
Degree in life sciences or medical discipline (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent preferred); advanced degree strongly preferredExperience working in matrixed teams in a global organization7+ years of relevant pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry, working in a medical communications agency, or relevant experienceDemonstrated expertise in global publication planning, publication management and project managementStrong knowledge of publication standards (ICMJE, GPP, CONSORT, AMA)Familiarity with publication management system (eg Datavision/iEnvision, PubsHub, PubStrat)Proficiency with MS Office suite (including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Strategic, collaborative, and solutions-oriented, with a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environmentAbility to work both independently and in a team environmentStrong leadership and management skills with executive presenceExperience in vendor management is a plusOur BenefitsCSL employees that work at least 30 hours per week are eligible for benefits effective day 1.
