What is the opportunity?

General Ledger Governance & Advisory (GL G&A) within the CFO Controls Office (CCO) is the Centre of Excellence for attestation administration and balance sheet controls. The Senior Manager, GL G&A, position is a key leadership role with a focus on governance of attestations, reconciliations and Policy as well as providing advisory to Platform Financial Control teams and account owners.

What will you do?

Lead a team on orchestration of the monthly end to end Enterprise GL Attestation process, including account ownership, task release, monitoring results, oversight of centrally monitored accounts, reporting, user support and representing GL G&A at attestation council meetingsProvide Policy guidance and training to business partners, advise on GL Attestation Policy inquiries, managing pilot programs and assist in making Policy updates.Elevate knowledge across all stakeholders via training and education programs.Single point of accountability and lead for PEGA technical issues; providing oversight of Production Support IT partners to ensure technical issues are logged and resolved in a timely mannerData Steward for the PEGA GL Attestation application, SQL database and GL G&A Tableau Server.Drive improved Financial Control monitoring and deliver insights to business partners by ensuring timely updates to Tableau reports and data extracts.Collaborate with Platform Financial Control teams on efficiency initiatives to automate reconciliation and attestation processes where applicable (RPA, Tableau, Power Queries, Leveraging SQL DB).Collaborate with Internal Audit to enhance monitoring effectiveness of the Enterprise Attestation Process.

What you need to succeed?

Must Have

5+ years working in/with a Financial Control or Governance environment and familiarity with internal controls over financial reportingExperience with the PEGA GL Attestation process and interest in deepening that knowledgeKnowledge of RBC Balance Sheet structure and business rules that drive reportingCuriosity to explore better ways of working while maintaining a strong governance mindset, accompanied by a drive to take ownership for and resolve issues with a sense of urgencyExcellent organizational and project management skillsExceptional at cultivating relationships, managing stakeholders and collaborating across platforms and regionsExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills – ability to work with people at all levels within the organizationAbility to work independently and manage numerous priorities simultaneously amidst tight deadlinesStrong financial, analytical, judgmental and conceptual skillAdvanced user proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, such as: Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint

Nice to Have

CPA or equivalent designationPeople manager experienceExperience with Tableau Desktop and Tableau ServerExperience with developing SQL queries to research, analyze and troubleshoot data and to create business reports
