About the Role
Responsible for determining the acceptance and the associated rates and benefits of the insurance applications based on guidelines set for the issuance of AIA insurance policiesDuties / Accountabilities
Supports Head of GI Underwriting to devise and implement effective underwriting control procedures;Ensure customer service standards in terms of timeliness and accuracy of underwriting services are met;Contribute to specification and development ad-hoc projects with IT and other internal/external parties;Provide support on ongoing product development / revamp processes assigned;Contribute to business growth and new sales-channel development on technical underwriting issues;Train up subordinates in both quantitative and qualitative risk assessment skills; andTo register and maintain as an insurance agent of Blue Cross with regulatory authority. Advise on or arrange contracts of insurance or carry out regulated activities if required.Competencies
Excellent knowledge of general insurance underwriting on both commercial and personal lines;Planning and organizing skills;Communication skills;Leadership and coaching skills;Analytical and problem solving skills; andCustomer satisfaction oriented mindset.Education/Work Experience
University graduate or above;Fulfillment of the fit and proper criteria of the Insurance Authority and / or the Insurance Agents Registration Board (IARB) for registration as an individual agent of the Company, and the minimum qualifications requirements, including but not limited to passes in IIQE Paper 1, 2 & 3;Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;10-year relevant working experience with minimum 5 years at managerial level;CII / ANZIIF qualification; andExcellent PC knowledge (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).Others:
