What is the opportunity?
The Senior Manager, Finance Advisor is a key business and finance contact/expert on all Insurance (Canada and International) expenses at the entity, line of business, and product level.
The incumbent will be an expert on expense allocations, collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure allocations are reasonable and reflective of business, controls are in place, and processes are documented; and support core finance activities (planning, month end, reporting, process streamlining) as relates to entity, line of business and product level expenses.
What you will do?
Primary contact for business and finance partners on allocated expensesDraws on expense expertise to provide advice, analysis and reporting to finance, business, and senior management, to improve decision making, including highlighting trends, risks and opportunities, as related to entity, line of business and product level expenses.Develops new, drivers based, financial metrics and insights.Leads the annual cost study process, collaborates with business to educate and ensure allocation assumptions reflect the underlying business, reviews results for reasonability, collaborates with GRM to ensure requirements are met and understood, and explains/presents results to finance, business and senior management.Provides regular reporting to finance & P&L owners to provide transparency on entity, line of business, and product level expenses, while continuously enhancing reporting to be drivers based.Leads planning and forecasting as relates to entity, line of business and product expenses, ensuring reasonability of results, and explains/presents results to finance, business and senior management.Identifies areas where processes can be improved and implement changes as necessary to streamline processes and reporting.Support business and finance partners in the development of business cases /PAR’sWhat you need to succeed?
Must Have
CPA, MBA or otherA solid understanding of Insurance system AccountingExperience in expense analysis, reporting and forecastingBusiness Advisory experience with the proven ability to communicate complex concepts concisely to technical and non-technical audiences, in written and verbal forms, and to Senior ManagementStrong conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skillsComfort with delegation of tasks to individuals both inside and outside direct area of influenceSelf-initiated & self-starter with a strong work ethicTeamwork, collaboration, and co-operation is a requirementJob Skills
