What is the opportunity?

In this role as Senior Manager, Executive and Group Communications, you will develop and execute internal and external communications activities for the Transformation & Enterprise Operations (TEO) Senior Management Team, including the Senior Vice-President. You will help to drive effective communications and storytelling to advance business objectives and strategies across TEO and develop various communications materials including researching and writing speeches and briefing materials, drafting employee messages, articles and social media copy, overseeing design and managing video production. As a people leader, you foster a high-performance culture through effective talent management, coaching, and capability development, while promoting engagement and alignment with business priorities.

What will you do?

Identify proactive opportunities to build a profile for the Enterprise Operations Executive and Senior Management Team, as well as contribute to the business/functional objectives of the BankIdeate and execute executive messaging initiatives that identify and profile high impact strategies, opportunities, and action plans that support our business, and connect our team (may include but not limited to; quarterly messaging, video and / or podcast, collateral and promotion).Own development and ongoing maintenance of Executive & Group content calendarDevelop and drive clear, simplified and streamlined content that meets stakeholder needs, including speaker preparations, presentations, and video contentDevelop strategies and leverage tools to measure, analyze and report on the effectiveness of communication initiativesLead strategic planning and execution of Executive internal office visits, ensuring seamless and effective sessions with local teams, leaders, and stakeholders that align with executive priorities and objectivesPlan and execute a series of large-scale events (e.g. Town Halls, Senior Leadership Sessions, Ask Me Anything Sessions) both virtually and in-person across varying time zonesSupport change management activities from a communications perspective to drive the execution of T&O’s strategic priorities around technology, productivity and talentAssess communications requests to determine relevancy, appropriateness, pacing, sequencings and alignment to business prioritiesEnsure Executive and Senior Management Team events are leveraged internally and externally to build brand awareness, enhance reputation and engage employeesEngage with key stakeholders across the department and the organization to align activities and maximize benefits for the organizationAbility to multi-task and prioritize effectively, and anticipate impact of possible solutions or alternatives to communication strategiesTakes full accountability and ownership for quality and accuracy of day-to-day communication responsibilities, tasks and activities ensuring a balanced focus and distribution of workAct as a coach and mentor to team members; provide advice, support, and constructive feedback, fostering a strong team culture of high performance that celebrates inclusivity and innovation  Other duties as assigned

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

Undergraduate degree/post-graduate certificate or equivalent in communications, public relations, journalism, English or a related field7+ years of communications experience with proven track record for building trust with, and providing strategic advice and insights to, executives and partnersExceptional attention to detail (written, verbal, and design)Well-honed ability to connect the dots and distill complex information into compelling narratives and collaborate fluidly with colleagues and partners to tell high impact storiesStrong knowledge of communications and social media principles and best practicesExtensive experience providing strategic communications advice and developing content for senior executivesStrong internal and external communications experience, including media relations and speech writingStrong event management and logistics experience, including use of virtual platforms and vendor relationship managementAbility to meet consistently high standards of quality while handling a variety of projects and deadlines simultaneouslyPeople Management Capabilities

Nice-to-have: 

Demonstrable understanding of technology and/or financial services industrySocial and digital media savvy, and a keen interest in financial servicesKnowledge of Agile methodologies and principles an asset
