The Dell Medical School is seeking a Senior Manager for the Department of Medicine

Purpose

To assist the Dell Medical School (DMS) Department of Medicine leadership on strategic initiatives and projects vital to the successful ongoing operations of the department and its academic programs targeted for Graduate Medical Education (GME), Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) and Medicine’s Faculty Academic Affairs and Faculty Professional Development Programs.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic oversight and operational leadership for a portfolio of high-impact departmental initiatives. Develop, execute, and monitor project plans across clinical, academic, and administrative domains pertaining to GME and faculty development while ensuring accountability, progress transparency, and timely delivery of outcomes.

Lead the development, implementation, and continuous evaluation of new programs. Analyze program and financial data to guide decision-making, improve performance, and align new initiatives with institutional goals and programmatic needs.

Drive key departmental strategies, including the development of a strategic performance dashboard, advancement of a department-wide communications strategy, and coordination of cross-functional leadership meetings across all clinical areas and collaborating partners that impact UME/GME and faculty growth and development.

Serve as a primary liaison to internal and external stakeholders, including senior health system leadership, faculty, partner institutions, and community organizations. Build and sustain high-trust relationships to support program growth and innovation.

Oversee operations and program development for Associate Chair of Education and Associate Chair of Faculty Development and Faculty Academic Affairs. Manage all direct reports and oversee employees’ responsibilities tied to Education and Faculty Affairs/Development within Medicine. Provide executive leadership for the expansion of new programs, including strategic planning, business modeling, recruitment, staffing, workflow design, and launch execution.

Maintain operational and financial oversight of the Department of Medicine’s GME and faculty development programs that cross all divisions, including Infectious Disease, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Dermatology, Palliative Medicine, General Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Cardiology, Pulmonary & Critical Care, and Hospital Internal Medicine. Ensure alignment of GME and faculty development programs with departmental priorities, accreditation programs, and health system standards.  Makes decisions across all programs to standardize levels of excellence in all programs across Departments of Medicine.

Provide comprehensive administrative leadership for Associate Chairs of Education and Faculty/Professional Development and programs impacting the Department and all divisions, collaborating with Division Chiefs to support faculty affairs, resource planning, and programmatic performance.

Serve as the Contract Manager for assigned areas, overseeing the development, negotiation, and management of clinical and academic contracts to ensure compliance, value generation, and sustainability. Collaborate with team members to expand the growth of internal CME programs.

Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and at least seven years of professional experience in healthcare or higher education project management. Demonstrated project organization skills, including the ability to multi-task, balance priorities, set and manage timelines for deliverables. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or other related field, and/or professional project management certification/training. Experience or familiarity with graduate medical education.

Salary Range

$112,432 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

Work in office. Potential for hybrid work if approved by Senior Director.
