**Purpose**
The Senior Manager, IB Data Product Support contributes to the overall success of the Data Governance Office by supporting data management activities to be applied in the production of Data Assets/Data Products in the scope of projects and initiatives. Along the Business lines and the Technology teams, the Senior Manager, IB Data Product Lead ensures that all activities conducted comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
**Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:**
+ Determine the existing data gaps between the needs of the project and the data assets already managed by the Data Office to ensure reusability of the bank's data and an adequate definition of the scope of the initiatives
+ Lead the identification (Data seeking) of the most suitable source data sources that allow the production of data elements required by the use cases of the data initiatives/projects
+ Ensure the implementation of quality controls in the source and target sources of the Data Assets/Products to be implemented
+ Work with Business lines, Technology teams and CIDA to ensure the successful implementation of data initiatives/use cases.
+ Provides consultative support to business lines and project teams on executing data management policy, standards, processes, etc., as appropriate.
+ Champions a customer-focused culture to establish and maintain stakeholder and executive management relationships to effectively influence strategic priorities.
+ Determine the data management activities, artifacts, and milestones required by the project initiative team. This includes collecting information on the initiative and documenting its use cases, use case description and type, use case success criteria, business purpose, and use case tier assessment.
+ Analysis techniques including definition of business need, assessing capability gaps, determining approach, defining scope and business value.
+ Collects information on the initiative and ensures that it is aligned with the program portfolio as part of initiating the official workstream.
+ Performs initiative resourcing estimates for DO and Business Project Team with the resource leads, including which team is assigning people to which role, identifying and engaging the required SMEs, and who is funding which parts of the initiative.
+ Work with teams and scrum master to develop risk-mitigated strategies to ensure the successful implementation and maintenance of re-useable datasets. Escalates blockers and issues to Data Office leadership for resolution.
+ Represent the Data Office in technological initiatives, ensuring that best practices in data management are followed, providing recommendations on the appropriate and proportional use of data and ensuring the delivery of high-quality data products with adequate governance.

+ Knowledge of data management processes and best practices.
+ Proven delivery experience, Agile experience is an asset.
+ Knowledge of Scotiabank’s operations to understand and lead the implementation of strategic initiatives across a number of disciplines is preferred.
+ Demonstrated ability to be flexible/ adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities.
+ Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and work well with business partners at different levels within the organization.
+ Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications/products and business functions, especially related to data and analytics.
+ Exceptional leadership skills to review processes and procedures to create efficiencies, eliminate duplication and provide organizational support to achieve business objectives.
+ Strong relationship management with an ability to establish productive relationships between various leaders, departments, and partners across the organization.
+ Ability to manage significant transformation change initiatives while maintaining a high level of employee engagement and focus.
+ Well-developed communication skills, including precise articulation of ideas and opinions to prepare detailed business cases and proposals.
+ Solutions oriented and ability to develop and create innovative solutions to critical business or organizational data issues.
+ Experience with SQL, Google Cloud Platform, Data Management tool, JIRA, and Confluence.
+ A strong Microsoft 365 set of tools (Power BI, Visio, etc.) is an asset.

**Education**
+ A bachelor's degree in computer science or similar with experience in areas of data governance, project management, business intelligence or Analytics.
**Soft Skills**
+ The best Candidate would have previous Scotiabank experience and be fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
+ The candidate would have a positive attitude and be willing to learn.
+ The best candidate would also be excellent at time management and hands-on.
+ Strong prioritizing, analytics, presentation, project management, and planning skills.
+ Strong technical skills like Data Architecture, Data Movement & Big Data Management.
