The Senior Manager, Copy is a strategic and creative leader responsible for overseeing the development of high-performing, brand-aligned copy across all marketing channels. This role leads a team of copywriters, ensuring that messaging is consistent, compelling, and optimized for business goals. The Senior Manager sets the vision for copy strategy, establishes editorial standards, and fosters a culture of creativity and collaboration while balancing efficiency, quality, and impact.Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of copywriters, providing direction, feedback, and professional growth opportunities.
Define copy strategy and ensure alignment with brand voice, campaign objectives, and company-wide marketing goals.
Oversee the creation of copy for a wide range of channels including email, digital advertising, promotions, product marketing, social media, and editorial content.
Establish and maintain brand tone-of-voice guidelines and ensure consistent application across all marketing and communications.
Build scalable editorial processes, templates, and review workflows to improve quality and efficiency.
Partner with cross-functional leaders in marketing, design, product, and legal to ensure messaging supports campaign goals, creative strategy, and compliance requirements.
Review performance metrics and lead data-informed optimizations to improve engagement, clarity, and conversion.
Champion creative reviews and editorial QA processes to ensure outputs are polished, on-brand, and strategically effective.
Stay current on consumer trends, marketing best practices, and emerging storytelling formats to keep messaging innovative and relevant.
Promote a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the copywriting team.
Requirements
6+ years of experience in copywriting, content strategy, or editorial leadership—preferably within marketing, e-commerce, or digital media.
Proven track record of managing and growing high-performing creative teams.
Strong expertise in brand voice, storytelling, and persuasive short-form and long-form marketing copy.
Experience developing editorial systems, style guides, and scalable content processes.
Excellent editing skills with a sharp eye for detail and quality.
Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Familiarity with performance marketing metrics and applying insights to refine messaging.
Proficiency in tools such as Figma a plus, particularly for reviewing copy in design contexts.
BA/BS in English, Communications, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred.
