Storehouse Voices is seeking a Director of Community & Digital Engagement to build, manage, and grow our online presence and reader community. This role is ideal for a social media-savvy, marketing-minded, and relationship-driven professional who can seamlessly blend content creation, audience engagement, and influencer partnerships to drive visibility for Storehouse Voices authors and titles.
With the heart of this role being to develop and execute digital engagement strategies and to cultivate community amongst readers, influencers, and internal stakeholders, the ideal candidate is a creative storyteller, skilled communicator, and strategic thinker who understands book culture, digital trends, and how to create meaningful connections online.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media & Content Creation:
Develop and manage a social media content calendar across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms. Create and schedule posts, stories, and reels that promote Storehouse Voices books, authors, and brand initiatives. Actively engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and community discussions. Draft blog content for our web platform, highlighting authors, book news, and cultural conversations.
Community Management & Engagement:
Build and moderate digital reader communities, including Facebook Groups, Discord, Goodreads, and online forums. Monitor and manage comments across platforms to ensure a positive and engaging reader experience. Develop polls, discussions, and interactive content to keep the community engaged.
Influencer & Partnership Strategy:
Identify and build relationships with book influencers, bloggers, and thought leaders in key audience segments. Develop and manage influencer outreach programs, providing books, promotional content, and collaboration opportunities. Track influencer partnerships and measure engagement/ROI.
Support Title Marketing & Publicity:
Collaborate with the ads team to develop digital assets (graphics, video clips, social ads) for book promotions. Draft basic press releases, email marketing copy, and promotional materials for campaigns. Track and report on engagement metrics to refine content strategy and optimize performance.
Who You Are:
Social media expert who knows how to create engaging content and grow online communities. Strong writer & communicator with the ability to craft compelling posts, blogs, and promotional copy. Tech-savvy marketer comfortable working with social scheduling tools, analytics, and influencer outreach platforms. Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and can manage multiple projects independently. Passionate about books, culture, and digital storytelling with an understanding of audience trends.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience and/or training. 7-8 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, influencer relations, or community management, preferably in publishing, media, or lifestyle brands. Strong knowledge of social platforms, content creation, and analytics tools. Experience with copywriting, blogging, and email marketing is a plus. Familiarity with influencer marketing, partnerships, and online engagement strategies.
This NYC-based role is a hybrid position with in-office responsibilities for a minimum of two days a week in the office. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA).
The salary for this position is $79,500-$85,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
