The Senior Manager, Business Excellence is responsible for driving site initiatives and developing OpEx capability and culture at the site by using and promoting the use of Lean Six Sigma methodology and change management, to ensure site goals are achieved. " Additionally, the position supports business and compliance objectives by ensuring projects and programs are aligned with the organization 's goals and strategies. This position reports to the Associate Director, Program Management.
**Qualifications required:**
+ Bachelor's degree in business, industrial, engineering or a related discipline or equivalent.
+ 7+ years of demonstrated experience in OpEx/Six Sigma/Lean/Continuous Improvement in biopharmaceutical or related industry, documented by a solid history of functional accomplishments and a proven track record.
+ 7+ years or more experience leading continuous improvement projects and coaching/training resources.
+ Master Black Belt, Black Belt, and Lean Leader certification is required.
+ Extensive knowledge of Operational Excellence, Lean and Six Sigma Methodologies and making data-driven decisions and applied experience leading Kaizen Events.
+ Extensive understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), best manufacturing practices, regulatory health authority Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Control (CMC) within Food and Drug administration (FDA) requirements, Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and compliance.
+ Possesses a thorough understanding of the Six Sigma and Lean philosophies and can teach and coach others how to apply Six Sigma and Lean concepts and foundational tools (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, Visual management, 5S, etc.).
+ Strong statistical root cause analysis background is required.
+ Ability to connect and collaborate across internal and external organizations.
+ Ability to lead without authority, possesses excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete their objectives.
+ Ability and aptitude for analyzing data, detecting inconsistencies determining relative importance of data, and utilizing data and risk analysis tools.
+ Ability to manage competing priorities, demonstrating a need for results, compliance, and desire for continuous improvement.
+ A team player with the ability to influence others internally and externally in a matrixed organization.
+ Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills coupled with the ability to take risks and drive decisions that get results.
+ Demonstrated appreciation for and recognition of others, including peers, for exceptional performance.
+ Capable of successfully managing multiple projects and priorities in a responsive, professional, and customer service-oriented manner.
+ Willing to work irregular hours, rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays, as necessary yet strives to create an environment that provides an acceptable work/life balance.
+ Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, command of communication and project.

**Responsibilities:**
· Develops, maintains, and continuously improves a comprehensive and best-in-class site Operational Excellence program in line with corporate guidelines that include development and execution of cost-effective Continuous Improvement (CI) tools designed to promote Right First Time (RFT) concepts that can be deployed at all levels within the organization.
· Partners with leadership to roll-out the OpEx programs to drive sustainable and efficient manufacturing and business process improvements that optimize capacity, reduce leadtime, minimize inventories, maximize fill rates, process flow, and productivity.
· Works with assigned departments to identify a pipeline of opportunities (e.g., cost savings, capacity, and efficiency projects) and coaches resources on applying OpEx concepts and tools.
· Embed OpEx Foundational skills in The Way We Work at the site. Ensures foundational skills (e.g., 5S, GEMBA Walks, Visual Management, Value Stream Maps, Standard Work, and Kaizens) are being used by resources in assigned departments.
· Facilitates the creation of a continuous improvement culture (i.e., lean operations) at the site.
· Leads large business change initiatives to achieve desired business benefits through project management and Lean Six Sigma.
· Acts as a coach for program/project teams, leadership teams and departments on use of Lean methodology, use of Six Sigma methodology, and use of change management tools.
· Drives engagement with Operational Excellence through management of ideas generated through GEMBA (actual place) walks, communication (visual boards), governance meetings, and other communication tools.
· Leading and coaching of workshops and day-to-day activities; leading and coordination of initiatives; and coaching personnel on day-to-day use of Operational Excellence.
· Delivers desired business benefits by using and promoting the use of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies and change management techniques to enable delivery of year-over-year benefits and business outcomes required.
· Improves Operational Excellence site capability through training coordination/delivery and coaching of Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Lean practitioner, and Lean Leader skills.
· Provides specific tools and lean technique training as required by the business. Oversees the certification programs for Yellow Belt, Green Belt and Lean Practitioner/Leader.
Keeps abreast of best practices, improvement opportunities in OpEx by networking within BMS and amongst external companies and industry bodies.
The starting compensation for this job is a range from US-NJ- $128,780 -$156,100 plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.
Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
