Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Senior Mainframe Engineer (multiple positions) in Chicago, IL.

Essential Responsibilities:

Analyze, design, test, develop, and maintain applications for Mainframe systems using agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.Write production-ready and testable code and create optimal designs adhering to best practices and considering scalability, reliability, and performance of systems.Utilize feedback from code review and apply changes to meet standards.Conduct code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance.Ensure all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices.Review software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards.Design and maintain Credit Card Payment system application on Mainframe platform.

Basic Qualifications:

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, and 5 years of progressively responsible experience as a Software Developer, or a related occupation.

Required Skills/Experience:

Experience must include 5 years of experience with each of the following:

Mainframe engineering in the banking or financial services industry; Simplifying product and technical design using agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles; Unit testing and reviewing developed code; Coordinating IST and UAT batch cycles for releases; and Utilizing COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
