Senior Linux Engineer

What does a successful Senior Linux Engineer do at Fiserv?

In this role, you will play a crucial role in managing, automating, and securing our Linux platforms. Your expertise with Red Hat Identity Management (IDM), Satellite, and Ansible Automation Platform will be key in maintaining compliance, streamlining patch management, and driving automation across our infrastructure.
 

What you will do:

Develop and refine automation scripts for Linux system administration using Bash, Python, Perl, and AnsibleManage patching and lifecycle automation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux using Red Hat Satellite and Ansible Automation PlatformImplement and maintain Identity Management (IdM) solutions, including access policies, centralized authentication, and integration with Active DirectoryEnsure compliance by researching and remediating vulnerabilities across Linux environments and apply server hardening best practices, leveraging CIS benchmarks and Red Hat security policiesFollow ITIL framework for managing incidents, changes, and problem resolution while you maintain detailed documentation for inventory, procedures, and audit compliance requirementsProvide expert recommendations on Red Hat Enterprise Linux configurations for optimized performance and securityCollaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance automation, security, and system efficiencyParticipate in an on-call rotation, executing and validating changes during scheduled maintenance windows

What you will need to have:

6+ years of Linux administration experience with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) versions 7-94+ years of experience in Ansible Automation Platform, including playbook development and infrastructure automation4+ years of experience with Red Hat IDM, user authentication, and role-based access control4+ years of experience in scripting (Bash, Python, Perl) for system automation4+ years of Red Hat Satellite experience for lifecycle and patch management2+ years of experience with virtualization and cloud technologies, such as VMware and Azure2+years of experience with network security & server hardening concepts (SELinux, firewalls, intrusion prevention)Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work/military experience.

What would be great to have:

Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible AutomationStrong troubleshooting abilities, with a focus on automation-driven solutionsExcellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate across teamsAbility to handle high-pressure situations while considering risk factors and efficiencyExperience with hybrid cloud environments, such as Red Hat OpenShift

Salary Range

$87,200.00 - $155,700.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey, New York and California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
