We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel to join the Perth team! In this role, you will effectively provide Legal advice and management of all legal and contractual matters on the Perth New Women and Babies Hospital Project (NWBHP).

Webuild is delivering the design and construction of the New Women and Babies Hospital in Perth, Western Australia. Commissioned by the Western Australia Government, the project is destined to replace the century-old King Edward Memorial Hospital and will expand the healthcare services for women, children and their families in the State of West Australia, transforming the capacity of two important healthcare campuses: the Fiona Stanley Hospital complex and the Osborne Park Hospital.

Your focus will include:

 

Monitor Notice requirements on the NWBHP and prepare Notices as per Contract in support of the Commercial Team Assist Contract Management and Procurement teams with subcontractor and supplier contract finalisation Liaise with corporate and general business line support. Providing practical legal advice and counsel to the Senior Leadership team on the NWBHP. Management and advice related to all project disputes upstream and downstream. Maintaining key relationships to ensure engagement of legal function on the NWBHP Engagement and management of external counsel with the approval of Contract Management Corporate and the Commercial Director (Project). Ensure compliance with legal and corporate compliance obligations. 

 

What you will bring to the team:

 

Admitted lawyer in Australia with a current practising certificate. You will be a projects, infrastructure, construction or energy and resources lawyer with approximately 8-10+ years' PQE.  You will have a solid commercial background with demonstrated construction industry experience. A willingness to lead negotiations in a fast-paced environment. Strong commercial judgment, collaborative approach with strong relationship-building skills.
