GEICO’s Legal Department is seeking a Senior Legal Administrator to perform moderately complex and sometimes confidential administrative duties that require considerable skill and knowledge of organizational processes and procedures. The position provides advanced administrative support, often acting as a liaison between the administrative team and other departments. Responsible for exercising confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy when completing own work.
Exercises moderate level of autonomy in troubleshooting issues as they arise and anticipate admin needs of the Department and the teams within. Provides outstanding customer service assisting associates with administrative questions and concerns. Work is generally fast-paced and moderately complex.
Provide comprehensive administrative and project support to the administrative team and GEICO’s Legal Department and several executive assistants supporting a number of senior leadership staff.
Identifies and resolves administrative problems and issues in the Department and in support of Staff Counsel.
Analyze administrative and operating practices, processes, and procedures, develop and update administrative processes and procedures to assure efficiency in office administration in the Department and Staff Counsel.
Coordinate and assist with office and Staff Counsel activities and support in-person and online meeting, workshop, and/or conference planning, including material production; scheduling, logistical arrangements, and liaising with participants, speakers, and vendors.
Serves as the POC and supports continued legal education (CLE) events with meeting logistics (reserving meeting site, ensuring A/V and conferencing systems are ready, security notifications, etc.). Coordinates meeting materials and tracks/manages meeting attendance responses.
Assist special projects as assigned.
May support and direct the work of less experienced admin staff and assign tasks.
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
5+ years of total relevant work experience

Ability to work for long periods of time without direction, prioritize own work, and work with flexibility on several tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
Excellent organizational skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
Excellent computer literacy skills (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and ability to learn new software.
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills; and strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and respond quickly to changing priorities.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
Location: HYBRID
This role requires working onsite in our Chevy Chase, Maryland, three days a week.
Annual Salary
$64,575.00 - $101,475.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
