Job responsibilities 

Provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendorsDevelops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersMakes decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processesLeads the design and development of the cloud infrastructure offerings and platform tools, ensuring that they are secure, scalable, and reliable, serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus, and provide technical leadership and guidance to the cloud engineering team.Contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software  Development Life CycleInfluences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologiesAdds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respectCollaborates with development teams to enable the delivery of high-quality, secure, and scalable applications on the cloudIdentifies areas of improvement and prioritize initiatives that align with business goals and objectivesStays up-to-date with the latest advancements in cloud technologies and bring in recommendations for adoption and implementation of new tools/technologiesEnsures compliance with security and regulatory requirements for the cloud  

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proven applied experienceHands-on experience with one or more cloud computing platform providers AWS/Azure/GCPAdvanced knowledge of Containerization and Container Runtime/Orchestration platforms (Docker/Kubernetes/ECS etc)Hands-on experience with Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning Tools like Terraform, Pulumi, Crossplane & Cloud Formation etcProficiency with programming languages like Golang, Python, Java, JS/TS etc and understand software development best practicesHands-on experience with logging and monitoring tools Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus etc Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices, shift left methodologies and DevSecOps processesAdvanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversightExperience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
