Senior Lead Embedded Software Developer for Safety Critical Software Development

About the role

As a Senior Lead Embedded Software Developer, you will join the KONE Safety Critical Software Team, which is responsible for developing Safety Critical Software for KONE elevators. You will work in a feature team consisting of Scrum Master, Software Requirements Engineer, Software developers and Test specialists.

KONE’s biggest R&D is in Hyvinkää, Finland and the team is located there. Your primary location will be Hyvinkää.

Your main responsibilities will include

· Developing embedded software in C according to MISRA-C standards and guidelines

· Performing unit testing and code reviews to ensure quality and reliability of the software

· Working on bare metal microcontrollers, ranging from low level board bring up to embedded application development

· Following the strict development process required for functional safety software, which includes adherence to requirements, coding and documentation guidelines

· Using continuous integrations and deployment tools and methodologies, and experience with DevOps ways of working

· Troubleshooting and debugging software issues and providing technical support

· Collaborating with other developers and stakeholders in an agile environment

To succeed in this role, you should have

· At least 6 years of experience in embedded software development and programming in C, out of which at least 2 years as a Senior/Lead Software Developer in a team

· Hands on experience with bare metal microcontrollers, such as Microchip (Atmel) and ST 32 bit microcontrollers

· Experience with unit testing tools and frameworks

· Knowledge of functional safety and regulated software development standards and requirements, such as IEC 61508, ISO26262, etc. is preferred

· Proficient working experience in using Git and other version control tools

· Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
