About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Control Management Officer for Consumer & Small Business Banking (CSBB) Operations supporting their Quality Assurance (QA) program. This role is responsible for the implementation and management of the First Line of Defense risk program requirements.


In this role, you will:

Act as an advisor to more experienced leaders in developing risk mitigation strategies for complex and highly integrated business specific risk across CSBBO

Facilitate control design, development and assessment for process changes and identify areas of opportunity for control optimization

Lead control assessments and perform walkthroughs of controls with control owners to identify control design and performance deficiencies

Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report impact of decisions and business controls to the relevant business group and enterprise function

Oversee execution of issue management portfolio (status updates, issue/corrective action creation, control documentation, closure evidence)

Partner with Customer Service to make strategic decisions to resolve highly complex issues by ensuring all process weaknesses or gaps are identified and remediation plans are supported and acted upon

Interpret and apply a range of policies and procedures for business functions with moderate to high complexity and risk

Collaborate with and influence business stakeholders, legal, compliance, risk and audit to meet business objectives

Engage with all levels of roles across the business group, and serve as an experienced advisor in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes, and controls that mitigate risks and address regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications:

7+ years of Risk Management or Financial Services Industry experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

Previous experience with Customer Service or call center processes, and/or Quality Assurance programs

Experience working in SHRP, Veritas or another enterprise governance, risk and compliance platform

Extensive experience with Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)

Extensive experience with the Issue Management end-to-end lifecycle

Extensive experience in control design and optimization

Experience conducting customer impact and root cause analysis to assist in the development of remediation plans

Understanding of Risk and Control Taxonomy

Proven consulting skills with the ability to influence key business leaders as it relates to maturing their risk and control environment

Experience communicating effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders and various line of business stakeholders

Ability to drive and lead organizational change, prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment

Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability

Ability to positively influence decision-making and rationalize decisions and implement solutions

Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills in order to meet deadlines

Advanced experience with Microsoft Office

Job Expectations:

Ability to work a hybrid work schedule – 3 days in office / 2 days remote

Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
