About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Commercial Real Estate Origination Specialist within Multifamily Capital is capable of handling the most important and complex client relationships with key sources of loan demand. Will be responsible for working with the larger bank clients and on larger and more complex transactions. Interface with leaders and key personnel from MFC, the GSEs and MFC/CRE clients. Will manage deals from initial screening to closing of the loan. Will work with CMS to assure servicing requests are met on a timely and in a satisfactory manor for the clients. Play a lead role in overseeing the client relationships; will work with other groups within WF that cover same clients to insure that all groups are coordinated. Identifies opportunities for cross sell and works with colleagues in other CRE groups, markets or specialty groups across the footprint. Works with senior management to develop growth strategies by providing valuable insight on business development. May participate in industry groups representing Wells Fargo in the marketplace. Will be required to stay current on GSE policy, underwriting, loan documentation and pricing and communicate these updates with clients. In addition to working with key clients, the candidate will work on special production initiatives with the objective of driving revenue for the group.
In this role, you will:
• Accountable for the largest and most complex Agency loan analysis on standardized templates and communicates sizing and pricing indications to manager and Group Head(s) based on Business Unit and GSE policies (if applicable) and ultimately to clients.
• Alerts manager if the proposal is either especially desirable or exhibits high risk attributes.
• Coordinates with Manager, and Head of Production to refine quotes and resolve waivers or threshold issues with Agencies and/or the Senior Credit Officer.
• Interfaces with manager and Borrower to achieve consensus on terms, drafts Application, and conveys Application to Manager for issuance to Borrower.
• Manages the Borrower through the underwriting and closing phase of each loan; working closely with MFC's underwriter and closing staff.
• Works with Lender Counsel to manage and resolve legal issues.
• Working with a senior team member in structuring loans and preparing recommendations for the most critical/complex relationships.
• Performs financial analysis, research, underwriting and due diligence related to Commercial Mortgage transactions.
• Develops and maintains knowledge of loan products and provides market intelligence to maintain competitive edge.
• Work independently to provide written analysis on risk and mitigates of prospective transactions as well as the ability to communicate written conclusions.
• Keeping senior team members abreast of important issues relating to loan opportunities and client relationships.
• Acts as a mentor and coach to more junior staff.
Desired Qualifications:
7+ years of experience underwriting commercial real estate credit transactions
7+ years in commercial real estate relationship management
Experience with multifamily property types, including conventional multifamily, affordable, student housing, seniors housing, and manufactured housing
Experience with bank, Government Sponsored Enterprise (GSE), life company and Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS) lending programs and credit policies
Experience with one or more government agency commercial mortgage specialty products
Experience with complex commercial real estate loan documentation
Experience developing and maintaining knowledge and understanding of commercial loan products and provide market intelligence to maintain competitive edge
Experience generating revenue and actively participate in the successful completion of complex transactions
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
Ability to work independently with sound judgment in the application of analytical conclusions to credit approval, structure, and management recommendations
Experience developing and cultivating professional relationships
A BS/BA degree or higher
Job Expectations:
This role requires 4 days in the office and 1 day remote

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
Salary is just one component of Wells Fargo's total rewards package. Depending on the role, a Wells Fargo's employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
