**Work Schedule** Standard (Mon-Fri) **Environmental Conditions** Laboratory Setting **Job Description** This position is based on our site in Uppsala, where Thermo Fisher Scientific develops, manufactures, and markets complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergy, asthma, and autoimmune diseases. We are the global leader in in-vitro allergy testing and the European leader in autoimmunity diagnostics. We are hiring a Sr Laboratory Engineer to join the Production Biotechnology department in Uppsala. The responsibility of the department is to meet the company's needs for monoclonal antibodies, enzyme conjugates, and allergenic components, as well as the production of ImmunoCAP ISAC and ImmunoCAP Rapid products. **The job:** You will be part of the Allergenic Components team, which consists of 8 people and are responsible for supplying the need for recombinant proteins in our allergy tests. The position involves working with protein purification of allergenic components in ongoing production as well as conducting investigations into process technical issues. In parallel, you will also work closely with the rest of the group in collaboration with R&D for the transfer and set up of new manufacturing processes. We are looking for someone who is interested in production in a lab environment and wants to help develop and improve the business through optimization and efficiency of manufacturing processes, where a wide variety of issues are part of everyday life. **Responsibilities:** + Protein purification of recombinant allergenic components + Process optimization and productivity improvements through PPI (Lean) + Control, maintenance, and qualification of equipment + Investigations and problem-solving with associated report writing + Updating governing documents within the quality system **What do you need?** + You have a university education in biotechnology or equivalent with experience and knowledge of lab work and chromatographic purification methods. + You have the ability to independently drive activities with great dedication. At the same time, you should also find it easy to communicate and enjoy team work. + To satisfactorily perform the tasks, you must be proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. It is advantageous if you have previous experience working in a quality-regulated environment, preferably QSR/cGMP, and practical experience in protein purification.
