The Opportunity:
We are currently looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer to join our team. As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for leading and contributing to the design, development, and implementation of complex Java-based applications. This is a key role that offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization's success.  Primary locations include Sarasota, Florida and Sterling, Virginia but willing to entertain other locations.


Responsibilities:

Lead design and architecture of scalable and robust Java applications via best practices and industry standardsDevelop strategic vision and product development roadmapsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, designers, and other developersMentor and provide guidance to junior and mid-level developers, fostering their professional growthConduct code reviews to maintain code quality, performance, and maintainabilityInvestigate and resolve complex technical issues, identifying opportunities for optimization and enhancementCollaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and provide technical expertise and solutionsStay up to date with emerging technologies, and industry advancements, sharing knowledge and best practices

Key Skills:

Java Development Experience: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in Java programming language, including advanced topics such as design patterns, data structures, and algorithmsSoftware Architecture and Design: Strong understanding of software architecture principles, ability to design scalable and maintainable solutions, and proficiency in applying architectural patternsFrameworks and Technologies: Expertise in Java frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Java EE plus experience with related technologies like Web Services (RESTful and SOAP), messaging frameworks, and caching mechanismsDatabase Integration and Performance Optimization: Proficiency in working with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra), writing efficient SQL queries, and optimizing database performanceProven experience with containerization platforms (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes) and designing/implementing containerized architecturesAgile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile development environments, using methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban, and familiarity with related tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)Advanced Java frameworks and libraries like Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, or Apache CamelFront-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, or Vue.js)Knowledge of and experience using LinuxDevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and associated tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)Security practices and familiarity with authentication, authorization, and encryption mechanisms

 

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)Minimum of 10-15 years of professional experience in Java development or related rolesMust have CompTIA Security+Proven track record of delivering complex, enterprise-level Java projectsStrong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholdersTop Secret Security Clearance (TS/SCI) with at least a Counterintelligence Polygraph and willing/able to apply for Fullscope Polygraph

Desired:

AWS CertificationsCloud platform knowledge (e.g., AWS, Azure) and experience building distributed systems through technologies like microservices, containers and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).DSP ExperienceCurrent Full Scope PolygraphExperience with big data technologiesFamiliarity with Machine Learning frameworks or AI technologiesExperience with DevOps tools such as Nexus, Jenkins, Ansible and/or ForemanExperience with relational, noSQL, and file-based storage products​

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$105,100-$231,100
